Wong Takes Two From Sarle

dsalituro • Level 27: 100,000-200,000, 0 ante

2-7 Triple Draw

Dominick Sarle had taken the chip lead from Jerry Wong, but that advantage would be short-lived after dropping two straight pots.

In the first, Wong three-bet in the big blind and Sarle called before both took two. Wong bet and was called, then bet again on the second draw.

"I paired my deuce," Sarle said as he folded after taking two.

The next hand, Wong three-bet again from the small blind and Sarle again called. Wong took one on both the first and second draws, putting out bets as Sarle called.

Sarle led out after taking one on the final draw and Wong called.

"Eight perfect," Sarle said. But Wong turned over a 7-5 to win another pot and put some distance between him and Sarle.

2-7 Triple Draw

Action folded to Dominick Sarle in the small blind who raised and was called by big blind John Monnette.

Both players drew three and Monnette called a bet, then got the rest of his 80,000 in the middle after the second draw. Sarle stood pat and showed a 9-7, while Monnette drew one and flipped over a jack before quickly making his way to the payout desk.

2-7 Triple Draw

Dominick Sarle raised to 200,000 from the small blind and John Monnette called from the big. Both players drew two and Monnette called a bet from Sarle.

After both players drew one, it went check-check and then each drew one again.

Sarle bet 200,000 and Monnette called only to muck when his opponent rolled over {7-}{5-}{4-}{3-}{2-}.

Badugi

John Monnette raised from the button and Jerry Wong re-raised from the small blind. Monnette four-bet and Wong asked how many chips he had behind, around 350,000, before five-betting.

Monnette called and they both stood pat. Wong bet and Monnette called before they got the rest of Monnette's 30,000 in the middle after the second draw.

Monnette turned over {7-Hearts}{4-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Clubs} for a Badugi to secure another double up and continue his rapid comeback.

A-5 Triple Draw

Daniel Strelitz raised before John Monnette shoved the rest of his stack in the middle. Strelitz called.

Monnette took one on all three draws, while Strelitz drew two until the last draw when he took one. He opened up 8-7-5-3-2.

Monnette was showing 6-5-4-A and needed to improve on his last card. "It's a no-spot club, so I think I'm good," he said before flipping over a three, securing a double-up of his short stack.
