The 2,074-entry field resulted in the first million-dollar prize pool of the series ($1,119,960), and after 12 hours of play, it was Ryan "Im.sorry" Torgerson who came out on top win a $172,361 top prize and his first gold bracelet.

Torgerson is a fairly new player to the series as his first official cash came from the WSOP.com Season Finale where he finished 30th just one month ago but he has already established his name in the poker world.

After finishing runner up in Event #9: $1,000 No-Limit Hold'em 6-Max, Torgerson came for redemption and earned the victory after he navigated his way through one of the largest fields this series.

MonsterStack Action

After Katie "katelin" Lindsay bubbled the tournament in 330th place, the eliminations came at a rapid pace.

Among the notables to cash were eight-time WSOP bracelet winnerErik "NW1Time" Seidelman (321st - $895.96), Joon "jykpoker" Kim (157th - $1,231.95), Ian "apokerjoker2" Steinman (108th - $1,455.94), Ron "MacDaddy15" McMillen (65th - $2,127.92), Jason "haderade" Somerville (51st - $3,023.89), Louis "PokeThese" Lynch (31st - $4,367.84), Anthony "heheh" Zinno (22nd - $5,360.25), Robert "BustinBalls" Kuhn (19th - $5,487.80) and Thayer "Rasta_Raf" Rasmussen (8th - $17,447.13).

Final Table Action

Tom "4Logan" Dean started the final table as the short stack and he was the first to fall after his big slick was out-flopped by Chris "letsgetit888" Carey holding ace-jack.

Nick "DuckFlush" Pupillo came to the final table second in chips but lost two hands holding ace-queen to fall in eighth place.

Justin "Fatstax" Whitfield was the next player to fall when they jammed their stack into the middle after flopping an open-ended straight draw with ten-nine of diamonds and they were called by Torgerson who held king-ten of spades. Whitfield whiffed the turn and river ending their tournament in seventh place.

Brent "grebnrets" Roberts then bowed out in sixth place when his pocket eights failed to win a flip against Sam "texasmolly" Grizzle's ace-king.

Not long after, "letsgetit888" jammed his stack into the middle holding king-queen suited only to run into the ace-king of Torgerson. "letsgetit888" turned a queen only and it looked like they were going to double-up until Torgerson rivered broadway to send them home in fifth place.

Blair, who came to the final table as the chip leaders, found himself as the short-stack and he got his remaining chips in the middle after flopping an open-ended straight draw. Brandon "Omni27" Ienn called with trip sevens which held after Blair bricked the turn and river to end his night in fourth place.

Three-handed action saw the chips evenly dispersed until Sam "texasmolly" Grizzle three-bet jammed his remaining chips in the middle preflop after Torgerson had raised and was called.

Grizzle was racing holding queen-jack and took the lead after flopping a queen, but Torgerson spiked the river giving him a set of tens sending Grizzle out in third place.

Torgerson took a 2:1 chip lead into heads-up play and he chipped away Ienn until his remaining chips went into the middle holding ace-seven.

Unfortunately for Ienn, he was dominated as Torgerson held ace-eight and Ienn took his exit in second place for $106,508.19.

The next tournament on the schedule – Event #11: $500 No-Limit Hold'em Turbo Deepstack 6-Handed – will take place at 3 p.m. PDT on Saturday. In the final hand of the tournament, Ryan "Im.sorry" Torgerson moved all in from the button and Brandon "Omni27" Ienn called off for approximately 18 million.

Brandon "Omni27" Ienn: {a-Diamonds}{7-Spades}
Ryan "Im.sorry" Torgerson: {a-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}

Ienn had a kicker problem and it came into play as the board ran out {4-Spades}{5-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{10-Spades}{10-Clubs}. Torgerson's ace-right played and Ienn had to settle for second place.

Ryan "Im.sorry" Torgerson: {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}

Grizzle took the lead on the {q-Clubs}{6-Spades}{2-Clubs} flop, but the {8-Clubs} turn gave Torgerson a flush draw. Grizzle, who was at his first WSOP Final Table in 21 years, just needed to fade a club or ten to double back into contention, but yet another cruel river was waiting in the wings, as the {10-Spades} gave Torgerson a set and sent Grizzle out two spots shy of his first WSOP Bracelet.

Eric "bill_luga" Blair raised the button to 1.6 million and Brandon "Omni27" Ienn defended the big blind to see a {j-Clubs}{7-Clubs}{7-Hearts} flop. Ienn check-called a bet of 980,000 and the {4-Spades} appeared on the turn.

Ienn opted to lead out for 1.6 million and called when Blair jammed for 6,59,707

Brandon "Omni27" Ienn: {6-Clubs}{7-Spades}
Eric "bill_luga" Blair: {5-Spades}{6-Spades}

Blair was looking to complete his straight to overcome Ienn's trip sevens, but that didn't happen as the {6-Hearts} river gave the latter a full house.

Another Brutal River Sends a Double to Ienn

BrandonTemple • Level 44: 40,000-800,000, 80,000 ante

Brandon "Omni27" Ienn jammed for 9,447,927 from under the gun, and Eric "Bill_Luga" Blair had him at risk in the small blind.

Brandon "Omni27" Ienn: {a-Clubs}{8-Hearts}
Eric "Bill_Luga" Blair: {a-Hearts}{j-Spades}

Ienn picked up some chop outs on the {9-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{k-Clubs} flop, and the {10-Diamonds} turn left Ienn searching for an eight for a win or a king or ten for a chop. Yet again, the river bailed out the longshot, as the {8-Clubs} hit the river, giving Ienn nines and eights and the double.

Chris "letsgetit888" Carey: {k-Clubs}{q-Clubs}
Ryan "Im.sorry" Torgerson: {a-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}

Carey was dominated and nothing changed after the {8-Spades}{j-Clubs}{6-Diamonds} flop but the {q-Diamonds} appeared on the turn pairing their queen.

Carey was looking good to find their double until the {10-Clubs} dropped on the river to give Torgerson broadway and Carey took their exit in fifth place.
