Devonshire and Greenstein Chop It Up

YorkshirePud • Level 7: 400-800, 100 ante

Bryan Devonshire: {4-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} / {A-Hearts}{6-Spades}{9-Clubs}{8-Hearts} / {5-Diamonds}
Barry Greenstein: {4-Spades}{4-Hearts} / {5-Spades}{2-Spades}{10-Spades}{10-Hearts} / {3-Diamonds}
Opponent: {X-}{X-} / {5-Clubs}{Q-Diamonds}{K-Spades} (folded on fifth)

Joining the action on fourth street, both players checked to Greenstein who led out with a bet, a bet that both players called. It was checked to Greenstein on fifth and Greenstein bet again. This time it was only Devonshire who called. Greenstein continued with the aggression on sixth, but Devonshire was going nowhere and he called. Both players checked seventh.

Greenstein took the high with two pair, fours and tens, while Devonshire's 8-6-5-4-A won him the low.

Leah Loses Full Pot

YorkshirePud • Level 7: 400-800, 100 ante

Mike Leah has just lost a sizable pot after his opponent scooped both the low and the high moments ago.

Mike Leah: {J-Spades}{5-Spades} / {J-Diamonds}{2-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{2-Clubs} / {9-Diamonds}
Doubled Up Opponent: {7-}{5-} / {4-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{8-Diamonds}{3-Clubs} / {8-Spades}

Leah bet third, fourth and fifth and called on fifth when his opponent raised and found himself all in.

All Leah could muster was to pair, jacks and nines, while his opponent held 8-7-5-4-3 for a low and trip eights for the high.

Rolled Up Queen For Kravchenko; Pot Gets Split

YorkshirePud • Level 7: 400-800, 100 ante

Alex Kravchenko: {X-}{X-} / {Q-Spades}{4-Hearts}{2-Clubs}{5-Hearts} / {X-}
Opponent 1: {X-}{X-} / {A-Hearts}{4-Clubs}{J-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} (folded on sixth)
Opponent 2: {X-}{X-} / {8-Hearts}{3-Hearts}{4-Spades}{2-Spades} / {X-}

Joining the action on fifth, the action checked to Alex Kravchenko who bet out. Both players called Kravchenko's bet and then checked to him on sixth. Again, Kravchenko bet, but this time only one player called. Kravchenko fired again on seventh and was instantly called.

Kravchenko opened {Q-Hearts}{Q-Clubs} / {X-} for a set of queens, which won the high, but his opponent held {7-}{3-Diamonds} / {10-Diamonds} to win the low.

Mercier Loses Some

[user198217] • Level 7: 400-800, 100 ante

Jason Mercier completed and was called by one player. On Fourth, Mercier bet, and was called. His opponent pair on fifth and bet, and he called. On sixth, another bet would be too much for Mercier, as he laid his hand down.

Mercier: {x-}{x-} / {a-Spades}{8-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{K-Spades} (folded on sixth)
Opponent: {x-}{x-} / {Q-Spades}{3-Spades}{3-Clubs}{K-Diamonds}

Selbst Chops, Then Doubles

[user198217] • Level 7: 400-800, 100 ante
Vanessa Selbst
Vanessa Selbst

A player brought in, before Vanessa Selbst completed the bet. She was called by both players as they all saw fourth street. Selbst bet and had one caller, before she was all in on fifth.

Player 1: {x-}{x-} / {3-Hearts}{Q-Spades} (folded on fourth)
Selbst: {7-Spades}{A-Clubs} / {A-Diamonds}{5-Hearts}{K-Clubs}{K-Spades} / {a-Spades}
Player 2: {2-Clubs}{5-Clubs} / {J-Clubs}{3-Clubs}{6-Spades}{Q-Clubs} / {8-Diamonds}

On sixth, Selbst’s opponent made a flush, but she would then make a full house to guarantee her the high. Going into seventh, she had the pot locked up until her opponent rolled over the {8-Diamonds} to earn himself half.

In the next hand, another player brought it in, as Jeff Lisandro completed the bet. Brandon Cantu called, as did Selbst, as the three went to fourth. There, the three checked as fifth was dealt out. Lisandro and Cantu checked to Selbst, who bet. Lisandro called and Cantu raised, as Selbst committed the last of her chips in. Lisandro folded and all the cards were tabled.

Selbst: {2-Spades}{6-Clubs} / {7-Clubs}{2-Diamonds}{6-Spades}{2-Hearts} / {10-Spades}
Cantu: {7-Diamonds}{7-Hearts} / {4-Clubs}{9-Hearts}{8-Hearts}{6-Hearts} / {4-Spades}

Selbst made a full house on sixth, and scooped the pot when Cantu couldn’t hit his low with his last card.

Aggression Pays Off For "The Mouth"

YorkshirePud • Level 7: 400-800, 100 ante

Mike Matusow: {X-}{X-} / {6-Hearts}{5-Hearts}{4-Spades}{3-Spades}
Opponent: {X-}{X-} / {2-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}{Q-Clubs}{9-Hearts}

Mike Matusow led on third street and when his opponent checked on fourth, Matusow bet again. His opponent called before checking fifth. Again, Matusow bet and was called. Sixth was checked by the player in Seat 1 and Matusow said "I bet," but before his chips had landed on the felt, his opponent had folded.

Aggression paid off for Matusow, although it does help when you have four to the straight showing and two separate flush draws, too.

Matusow Needles Hellmuth

YorkshirePud • Level 7: 400-800, 100 ante

Mike Matusow has been playing Open face Chinese on his iPad for the vast majority of the day, something that has drawn the attention of Phil Hellmuth, who is sitting on the table next to Matusow.

"I'm just sad you won't play me anymore, Phil" said Matusow to the 13-time WSOP champion.

"I've told you, Mike. I'll play you once the series is over. I'll play you for 10 hours per day, once my run is over," said Hellmouth before adding, "But we need a law that if I am up 500 points against you, you can't quit!"

"There is a law!" said Matusow, "That if you ever beat me I will commit suicide!"

Hellmuth then commented on how Matusow needs some new ammunition if he is to rile him, as he got used to it while playing in the Premier League in London.
