Seidel Slips

OHairDJ • Level 1: 1,000-2,000, 300 ante

In a blind vs. blind situation, Nikita Lebedev raised to 6,000 from the small and Erik Seidel called.

The flop came {2-Hearts}{J-Spades}{4-Hearts} and Lebedev c-bet for 8,500. Seidel again called.

Not backing down, Lebedev fired again for 17,000 when the {3-Hearts} fell on the turn. Seidel thought better of it and mucked.

Seidel is currently sitting with 133,000.

Darren Kramer Eliminated in 40th Place ($13,368)

OHairDJ • Level 1: 1,000-2,000, 300 ante

We missed the action, but we are being told that a short-stacked Darren Kramer shoved all-in on an eight-high board and was called by Ben Tollerene holding {8-}{9-}. Kramer had ace-high and did not improve on the turn or river - sending him to the rail.

Jordan Young opened his button to 4,500 and Dan O'Brien defended his big blind before checking a {K-Clubs}{10-Hearts}{K-Spades} flop.

Young continued for 2,800 and O'Brien made the call before the {6-Diamonds} landed on the turn. O'Brien checked, and then called a 11,300-chip bet from Young before both players checked the {Q-Spades} on the river.

O'Brien tabled his {Q-Clubs}{10-Clubs} and Young mucked his hand.

Flop Raise Win for Diaz

[user80015] • Level 1: 1,000-2,000, 300 ante

Gilbert Diaz limped the button and Scott Baumstein completed from the small blind as Tommy Vedes checked his option.

Baumstein took the lead on the {K-Spades}{Q-Clubs}{8-Diamonds} flop with a bet of 2,000 which Vedes called before Baumstein raised it up to 7,200.

Baumstein quickly mucked, but Vedes took slightly longer before tossing his cards into the muck also.

Can We Wear Headphones?

[user80015] • Level 1: 1,000-2,000, 300 ante
"I wish I could listen to that new Lady GaGa single. Heard it's a killer!"
"I wish I could listen to that new Lady GaGa single. Heard it's a killer!"

After contesting a pot recently with Thorsten Schafer, Justin Bonomo requested a ruling on whether or not players were allowed to wear headphones.

With tablemates Schafer and Gareth Teatum both wearing headphones, Bonomo requested the issue since he too wanted to wear them.

"I know we're in the money, but I just want to check" asked Bonomo to the Tournament Director.

No more then thirty seconds later, and announcement was made to the remaining field that - like every WSOP event - once players reach the money, headphones and electrical devices cannot be used at the table.

For Bonomo and the select few still bopping away to tunes or drowning out table talk will now have to handle the music-less and talk-heavy tables!

Marc Inizan opened under the gun to 4,000 and James Dempsey three-bet next to act to 10,200. Once the action returned to Inizan, he made the call before donking out 14,00 on the {6-Spades}{K-Clubs}{3-Clubs} flop.

Dempsey considered his options before pushing the action up to 36,700 only to have Inizan jam for 103,300 as the gold bracelet holder made the call.

Dempsey: {A-Clubs}{2-Clubs}
Inizan: {K-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}

With Inizan in the lead, he would still need to fade any club, ace or running cards for trips or a straight. The {J-Hearts} on the turn saw him only needing to avoid an ace or clubs, and when the river landed the {J-Spades}, Inizan was ensured the double to 231,000 as Dempsey was left with just 41,000 in chips.

Smith Snags an Early Lead

OHairDJ • Level 1: 1,000-2,000, 300 ante

Dan Smith opened for 5,500 from the cutoff and was called by both Joseph Elpayaa and Jean Fracois Talbot. Action was on Gavin Smith in the big, who said, "We gonna have a family pot?," as he looked down at his hole cards.

Apparently not, as Smith then flung out a raise to 27,000. Everyone folded.

"I wasn't bull-shittin' guys," Gavin said as he slammed down {A-}{K-} face up.

Gavin is up to 172,000.

Justin Bonomo opened to 5,500 from under the gun and Thorsten Schafer made the call from the button.

The {Q-Hearts}{6-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{7-Spades}{6-Clubs} board was checked down to the river until Bonomo tossed in an 8,500-chip bet. Schafer called, but then mucked at the sight of Bonomo's {A-Spades}{8-Diamonds} for ace-high.

Orson Folds River

[user80015] • Level 1: 1,000-2,000, 300 ante

Orson Young opened the button to 4,500 only to have Nikita Lebedev three-bet to 11,100 from the small blind. Young made the call as the dealer spread a {6-Hearts}{10-Diamonds}{A-Clubs} flop and Lebedev continued for 17,000.

Young smooth-called as the the {2-Clubs} rolled off on the turn and both players checked. The river of the {9-Hearts} saw Lebedev push out a 50,000-chip bet as Young folded his hand.

Gareth Teatum opened the small blind to 5,200 only to have Nicholas Fierrogottner three-bet to 15,500 from the big.

Teatum made the call before checking the {2-Clubs}{J-Hearts}{10-Hearts} flop as Fierrogottner fired out a continuation-bet of 20,000. Teatum responded by moving all in for roughly 115,000 to force Fierrogottner's cards into the muck.
