Day 3 completed

And That's a Wrap!

We originally thought that we were going to play down to a final table today and were preparing for a long day. However once we got down to our final ten it was announced that we'd be calling it a day at nine.

And at our final nine we are. It ended up being quite a short day with a ton of hands having all their action play out before a flop. We started out with 35 players this afternoon and it took less than five full levels to reach nine. Play wasn't extremely deep for any of the players, so it wasn't surprising to see a flurry of pre-flop action.

Scott Montgomery was amongst the players who busted before the final table and had his hopes of winning back-to-back $1,000 events dashed. Manuel Davidian was our unfortunate bubble boy, but will still be taking home a fair chunk of change for his efforts.

Adam White will be heading into the final table as our chip leader with 1,685,000 chips but he's followed closely by Allan Baekke who has 1,633,000 chips. Other players above the million-chip mark include Shawn Busse (1,203,000) and Owen Crowe (1,192,000).

Join us tomorrow at 2:30 PM local time when we'll to take you along from our final table to a winner.

From under the gun, Chuan Shi opened the pot with a 55,000-chip raise. Manuel Dividian, in the hijack seat, moved all in for about 300,000 chips. Shi called.

Davidian: {q-Clubs}{q-Hearts}
Shi: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

The board ran out {a-Spades}{7-Hearts}{7-Diamonds}{j-Spades}{j-Hearts} and Davidian is our final table bubble. Shi is now up to 894,000 chips.

Play Slows

With only one player to go until the final table the play amongst our final ten has slowed considerably. Of course, that is to be expected with some serious money jumps on the horizon.

Pre-Flop Action

In middle position, Jason Mann opened the pot with a 50,000-chip raise. The action arrived to Pekka Ikonen in the small blind, who called. Next to speak, Adam White re-popped it to 150,000. Mann folded and Ikonen announced re-raise all in for an additional 325,000 chips.

White eventually folded.

Ikonen is now up to 655,000 chips and White slipped to 1,760,000.

Mann Loses Chips to Ikonen

Jason Mann had raised to 55,000 in early position with Pekka Ikonen making the call in the big blind.

The flop came {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs}{9-Spades} and both players checked to see the {6-Clubs} on the turn. At this time Ikonen bet 50,000 with Mann calling.

The river was the {j-Spades} and both players checked.

Ikonen showed {j-Clubs}{j-Hearts} and Mann mucked, giving the pot to Ikonen.

Break Time

We're now on a 20-minute break. We should be on dinner break, but the players decided to take just a 20-minute break and then play until the final table.
