Williams' Roller Coaster Ride

[user22113]
The story of the day has been David Williams' wild ride from chip leader, to bottom feeder, and back...

Not even 5 hands after he dropped to 38,000, Williams made a bold preflop call with a pocket pair of 7's; his opponent showed the {Q-Hearts}{10-Hearts}.

The flop exuded a fist pump from an ecstatic Williams, who made a set when the cards fell {9-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{6-Clubs}. The {J-Hearts} on the turn gave his opponent new life, but it was short-lived as the river brought the {A-Diamonds}, earning Williams the checkmark.

David now has close to 65,000 chips.

Williams Takes a Hit

[user25067]
The UTG player raised to 5,500 and David Wililams called from late position. The flop was {J-Spades}{4-Clubs}{2-Clubs}. The UTG player checked, Williams bet 10,000 and the UTG player called. The turn was the {5-Diamonds} and both players checked. The river was the {8-Diamonds} and both players checked again. Williams showed {10-Clubs}{10-Spades} while his opponent tabled {A-Clubs}{J-Clubs} for top pair, top kicker.

Williams was down to 38,000 after the hand.
