It was a last-minute decision of Matas Cimbolas to enter the second of three starting flights in the 2015 partypoker World Poker Tour National London £200 No-Limit Hold'em Accumulator at Aspers Casino. The 2014 WPT Nottingham champion and recent EPT Deauville eighth-place finisher stormed through the field and claimed an astonishing 169,200 in chips. That was good enough to make him the current overall leader.

Kevin Allen was another player to put his fingerprint on Day 1b with 130,200, and Anthony Mitchell's 124,200 eclipsed the 104,000 of Day 1a chip leader Lucio Pacifico

The second flight's field size was slightly lower with 177 entries, but it did increase the total number of entries to 370. Of those, 83 players bagged up chips at the end of Day 1b.

James Dempsey was among the notables to hit the rail today, but he still has the chance to play again in the third and final flight that will begin tonight at 8 p.m. UK time. The same goes for Aleksandar Spadijer and defending champion Gabriel Tuna.

WPT Champions Club member Tony Dunst was down to as low as 5,800 at one point today, but he bagged up 74,500. Surinder Sunar added another 47,900 to his stack, with Gareth Smirthwaite being not too far behind on 47,600. James Akenhead busted on Day 1a, but he went on to claim 40,100 in chips for Day 2 from this flight. That may still increase depending on the outcome of Day 1c.

Two More Hands to Go

zedmaster84 • Level 8: 500-1,000, 100 ante

The clock has been stopped with eight minutes left and two more hands will be played before everyone gets to bag and tag.

Lazenby Doubles and then Busts Opponent

zedmaster84 • Level 8: 500-1,000, 100 ante

After a flop of {8-Hearts} {9-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds}, Simon Lazenby was all in and at risk after calling the all in of an opponent with {A-Spades} {3-Hearts} for ace-high. It was a marginal and risky move, but his opponent only held {J-Spades} {10-Hearts} for the open ended straight draw. Lazenby held up with the {9-Hearts} turn and the {8-Diamonds} river as final two community cards to double up to 47,000.

One hand later the same opponent was all in short-stacked with {9-Diamonds} {6-Diamonds} and this time Lazenby had the far more dominating hand in {Q-Diamonds} {Q-Hearts}. The {6-Clubs} {9-Clubs} {2-Clubs} flop was a little shock, but the {2-Hearts} turn paired the board and brought Lazenby back into the lead. A blank {7-Diamonds} river sent the opponent to the rail and Lazenby apologized. "That was #### lucky," another player on the table remarked. "That's my middle name," joked Lazenby before stacking the chips.

Mitchell Joins Big Stacks

zedmaster84 • Level 8: 500-1,000, 100 ante

After a flop of {4-Spades} {5-Spades} {9-Hearts}, Aziz Kara checked, one player bet 3,200 and only Anthony Mitchell called to see the {6-Diamonds} on the turn. Again it was Mitchell who called a bet of 5,500 before the {5-Clubs} river completed the board. The opponent made it 6,000 to go and Mitchell min-raised t0 12,000 from the button.

The raise was eventually called and Mitchell's {A-Spades} {5-Spades} scooped the pot.

Cimbolas Soars to the Top

zedmaster84 • Level 8: 500-1,000, 100 ante

Just before the break, flat-called an open raise and a call from the cutoff and the player in the big blind also called to see a four-way flop of {Q-} {7-Spades} {4-Spades}. The action was checked to Cimbolas and he bet 3,000 to face an all in of 26,000 by one of the opponents. It was up to the Lithuanian to make a move and he did call with pocket eights to face the {J-Spades} {9-Spades} for the flush draw.

Neither turn or river changed anything and Cimbolas is now in the lead.
