"kleinebakker007" Wins SCOOP-64-M: $530 NLHE [Progressive KO] for $210,519

AnthonyThompson • Level 49: 700,000-1,400,000, 175,000 ante

"kleinebakker007" just became the latest PokerStars 2021 Spring Championship of Online Poker after he topped a field of 3,835 total entries in Event-64-M: $530 NLHE [Progressive KO], $1M GTD to walk away with the $210,519 ($116,993 + $93,526 in bounties) first-place prize.

The two-day tournament came with a guaranteed prize pool of $1,000,000, though that number was smashed by a wide margin, with a massive $1,917,000 being up for grabs. The prize pool was shared across the 557 players that made it into the money, a feat that was accomplished in the later stages of Day 1.

"kleinebakker007" came into the final day sitting 11th in chips out of the 132 returning players and won a few early hands to keep that sack at bay. From there he steadily gained chips throughout the final day and brought a top-two stack into the final table.

It was there where "kleinebakker007" really gained momentum as they eliminated five of their final eight opponents en-route to victory.

Final Day Action

The final day saw 132 players return for Day 2 with each player already guaranteed to walk away with least at $1,014. From the first second the virtual cards went in the air virtual bodies started dropping like wildfire as over half the field was eliminated by the second break of the day.

Even though only 44 players remained after the break, players continued with their bounty hunting as notable's Thiago "KKremate" Crema (29th - $2,142 + $4,128.91 in bounties), Mikolaj "T3G3S" Zawadzki (28th - $2,142 + $1,265.63 in bounties) and Sung Joo "Koreanmonkey" Hyun (27th - $2,142 + $1,816.41 in bounties) hit the rail before the next break period.

The steamroll continued and the remaining familiar faces in the field started disappearing as, Matthias "MLS20" Lipp (20th place - $3,029 + $4,990.24 in bounties), Hristo "icho90" Anastassov (17th - $2,142 + $10,140 in bounties), Jorge "jorginho88" Abreun (16th - $2,142 + $6,843.74 in bounties) and Day 1 chip leader Tomas "MASUR0N1KE" Kubaliakn (15th - $2,142 + $3,300.78 in bounties) all departed, leaving just Henrique "Zanetti89" Zanetti as the last know player.

Zanetti held a healthy chip stack when only twelve players remained but he found himself in a tough spot, leaving himself with just over one big blind as he would fall the very next hand in 10th place setting the stage for the final table.

Final Table Action

"OstapBender8" utilized their chip stack from the moment final table play started as they eliminated "CPalCR" in ninth place and "JevoKar" followed shortly in eighth place.

When seven players remained, "kleinebakker007" started to go on an elimination spree. They sent "BigM_King17" home in seventh place after turning trip fives and eliminated "blackaces93" after they flopped the nuts in a limped pot.

After "OstapBender8" eliminated "doulas12" in fifth place, "kleinebakker00" continued their elimination spree as they eliminated their final three opponents in just two short levels.
