"Darwinsfish" Back on Top

KaleGozer • Level 46: 800,000-1,600,000, 200,000 ante

After taking out "Killer_ooooo", "Darwinsfish" also took chips from Eduardo "Eduardo850" Silva to regain the top spot. In a limped blind-versus-blind hand, Silva bet 2,100,000 on the {a-Hearts}{10-Spades}{2-Spades} flop and 7,000,000 on the {q-Hearts} turn. "Darwinsfish" called both streets.

The river was the {3-Spades} and Silva check-folded to a bet of 8,960,000. "Darwinsfish" won three smaller pots in a row after to soar to over 60 million in chips.

"Killer_ooooo" on Fumes

KaleGozer • Level 46: 800,000-1,600,000, 200,000 ante

"Killer_ooooo" has slowly been bleeding down to his final few big blinds, which he got in with {a-Diamonds}{5-Spades} against Rinat "Zapahzamazki" Lyapin's {a-Hearts}{q-Hearts}. The board ran out {4-Spades}{5-Clubs}{3-Hearts}{6-Hearts}{7-Clubs} for a chop and the Dutchman remained angsty short.

This Time? Some of the Top Talents Who Have (Inexplicably) Never Won During WCOOP

KaleGozer • Level 45: 700,000-1,400,000, 175,000 ante
WCOOP players due
WCOOP Players

Just before the 2018 World Championship of Online Poker (WCOOP) got under way, we took a look at five players who were overdue a victory in poker’s premiere tournament series. There was simply no rational explanation for how come all of Niklas “Lena900” Astedt, Simon “C. Darwin2” Mattsson, Luke “lb6121” Schwartz, Talal “raidalot” Shakerchi and Tobias “kuhns89” Hausen had not, to that point, won a WCOOP tournament.

Two years on, only Astedt has put it right. He won the $530 PLO 6-Max in 2018 to get the monkey off his back.

Today we’re taking a look at another list of brilliant talents who have not yet won a title during WCOOP. But remember as you read the list of nearly men below that Mattsson, Schwartz, Shakerchi and Hausen are still looking for that WCOOP title too. Perhaps there’s no real shame in all of this.
