Felipe Ramos Eliminated in 8th Place ($108,030)

Felipe Ramos
Felipe Ramos

Action folded to Felipe Ramos on the button and he shoved for his last 40,000 chips. After brief consideration, Christopher Kruk moved all-in from the small blind for what looked like just over 1,300,000. Justin Bonomo folded his big blind and the two live players tabled their hands.

Felipe Ramos: {7-Diamonds}{7-Clubs}
Christopher Kruk: {5-Spades}{5-Hearts}

Ramos was way ahead preflop with the better pocket pair and Kruk needed a lot of help from the deck in order to knock him out. The flop came {J-Clubs}{6-Clubs}{5-Clubs} giving Kruk a set of fives to take the lead and leaving Ramos in need of a club or seven. The {A-Clubs} on the turn put Ramos back in the lead with a flush, but the {6-Spades} river paired the board to give Kruk the winning full house, so he took the pot to end Ramos's deep run in this tournament.

Ramos Takes a Big Hit

ajlamers • Level 20: 10,000-20,000, 20,000 ante

It was not the start that Felipe Ramos had envisioned coming into the final day of the $25,000 High Roller. Richard Seymour opened to 47,000 from the hijack and Ramos defended his big blind. The flop came {q-Spades}{q-Diamonds}{4-Hearts} and both players checked to the {10-Spades} on the turn.

Ramos checked again and Seymour fired a bet of 50,000 which Ramos called. The river was the {2-Hearts} and Ramos checked one more time. Seymour bet another 115,000 and Ramos called after using up a time bank. Seymour tabled {q-Hearts}{j-Hearts} and Ramos was forced to muck.

In the next hand, Justin Bonomo pushed all in from under the gun for 361,000 and the action folded to Ramos in the small blind. He took his time before making the call and when the cards were tabled, it was a race. Bonomo held {8-Spades}{8-Diamonds} and Ramos showed {a-Diamonds}{j-Diamonds}. The board ran out {10-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{4-Hearts}{k-Hearts} and Bonomo got a full double up through Ramos, leaving him with around 50,000 chips.
