Aido Doubles Through Moneymaker

will_shill • Level 32: 60,000-120,000, 120,000 ante

Sergio Aido opened to 240,000 and got a call from Ana Marquez on the button. Chris Moneymaker three-bet to 800,000 from the big blind and Marquez folded.

Moneymaker called with {a-Diamonds}{q-Hearts} but had run into the {a-Hearts}{a-Clubs} of Aido.

"Pretty good timing," said Moneymaker. The board came {8-Clubs}{7-Spades}{9-Clubs}{2-Clubs}{9-Spades} and Aido doubled up.

Frank Stepuchin limped in the cutoff and Freddy Deeb raised to 1,120,000 in the small blind. Stepuchin called.

The flop came {8-Hearts}{4-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and Deeb moved all in, covering his opponent.

"I almost flopped quads," said Stepuchin who threw in a time extension before ultimately calling.

Freddy Deeb: {a-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}
Frank Stepuchin: {5-Spades}{5-Clubs}

Deeb had flopped top pair and there was to be no miracle five on the {k-Spades}{10-Spades} runout and the start of day chip leader was eliminated.

Marquez Calls Down Kempe

ajlamers • Level 31: 50,000-100,000, 100,000 ante

Rainer Kempe raised it up to 210,000 on the button and Ana Marquez called from the big blind. The flop came {9-Clubs}{8-Spades}{2-Spades} and Marquez check-called a bet of 150,000 from Kempe.

The turn was the {4-Clubs} and Marquez checked again. Kempe fired out a bet of 400,000 and Marquez stuck around to see the {2-Clubs} on the river. Marquez checked for the third time and Kempe announced all in. Marquez had 1,095,000 chips in front of her and she used up a time extension before making the call for her tournament life.

Kempe reluctantly turned over {k-Diamonds}{j-Clubs} for just king-high and Marquez held {q-Diamonds}{9-Hearts} for two pair to earn herself a double up.

Ausmus Gets a Favorable Triple Up

ajlamers • Level 31: 50,000-100,000, 100,000 ante

Jeremy Ausmus shoved all in for 960,000 on the button and Rainer Kempe called from the small blind. Chris Moneymaker also called from the big blind and the flop came {j-Diamonds}{8-Hearts}{2-Hearts}.

Kempe checked to Moneymaker who slid out a bet of 700,000. Kempe folded and the two remaining hands were tabled. Moneymaker held {a-Diamonds}{8-Diamonds} against the {a-Hearts}{10-Spades} of Ausmus.

The turn was the {10-Diamonds} to give Ausmus the best hand but he still needed to avoid an eight or a diamond. The river was the {9-Spades} and Ausmus found himself a double up. The look on Kempe's face indicated that he folded the best hand, if only Moneymaker didn't bet the flop.

Jeremy Ausmus raised to 200,000 and Chris Moneymaker three-bet to 500,000 from the small blind. Ausmus used a time extension before calling.

The flop {4-Diamonds}{6-Diamonds}{q-Diamonds} and turn {8-Clubs} were checked by both players and Moneymaker bet 1.5 million, enough to put Ausmus all in, on the {j-Hearts} river. Ausmus used another extension before folding.

Marchese Holding Steady

will_shill • Level 31: 50,000-100,000, 100,000 ante

Freddy Deeb check-called 350,000 from Tom Marchese on a {3-Clubs}{4-Clubs}{5-Spades} flop and 700,000 on the {q-Clubs} turn. Both players checked the {3-Hearts} river and Deeb won the pot with {a-Diamonds}{q-Spades} for top pair.

A short while later Marchese check-called 550,000 from Conor Beresford on a {10-Spades}{8-Hearts}{8-Spades}{j-Diamonds} board and checked the {9-Spades} river to his opponent. He checked back and Marchese showed {j-}{8-} for a full house and moved back above 14,000,000 in chips.
