Lappin in the Chip Lead

Jaxon • Level 15: 2,000-4,000, 4,000 ante
David Lappin

David Lappin opened to 8,000 from the hijack and got calls from Antonis Poulengeris in the cutoff and the players on the button, in the small blind, and in the big blind.

The {j-Clubs}{5-Spades}{6-Spades} came on the flop. The players in the blinds and Lappin check. Poulengeris bets 20,000. One player called before Lappin jacked it up to 85,000. Poulengeris jammed for 130,000 and Lappin called after it was folded back around to him.

David Lappin: {a-Diamonds}{j-Spades}
Antonis Poulengeris: {k-Spades}{10-Spades}

Lappin had top pair but had a sweat with his opponent showing a flush draw and an overcard. The {j-Hearts} came on the turn and Poulengeris needed a spade to stay in the Day 1c field.

No spade came as the {q-Hearts} completed the board on the river and Poulengeris hit the felt.

Meanwhile, Lappin is clearly in the lead on Day 1c at the moment with a stack of 580,000 in chips.
