Nassif Bests Subtil

[user196676] • Level 6: 200-400, 50 ante

We arrived to find Team PokerStars Online Pro Gabriel Nassif and Paulino Subtil heads up with a completed board of {2-Spades}{7-Diamonds}{10-Clubs}{A-Clubs}{A-Spades}. With about 9,000 already in the middle, Subtil reached for chips and flicked 2,500 into the middle.

Nassif thought for some time before dropping out a call. He hovered his cards over the middle of the table, instantly ready to muck his hand. Fortunately for Nassif, Subtil did not table his hand immediately either.

In the end, Subtil showed {10-Diamonds}{6-Hearts} which was beaten by Nassif's {K-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}. Nassif won the pot and now has about 77,000 in chips.

Konstantinos Nanos opened the action from early position for 1,000 and Sergio Aido made the call. Fabrice Galardini raised to 3,000 and just Aido made the call.

The flop was {7-Spades}{6-Hearts}{6-Diamonds} and Aido check-called a bet of 4,000. On the turn {2-Hearts} Aido check-raised a bet of 8,000 to 16,000. Galardini made the call and they both checked the river {9-Spades}.

Aido showed {q-Diamonds}{q-Spades} and a distraught Galardini showed {j-Hearts}{j-Diamonds}.

Looking on, Alex Goulder teased him, “You can’t lose. That’s so lucky.” Aido just grinned back at him.

Yardley • Level 6: 200-400, 50 ante

Zoran Jovanovic won a live satellite to qualify for this event and he limped from first position to get the action underway. Sat to his left, Carlos Mora Alvarez, pounced on the perceived weakness and raised it up to 2,000. All the other players folded and it was back to Jovanovic who made it 5,500 from a 14,000 stack.

Alvarez first looked confused but then even he had to smile as he mucked his hand, slightly abashed that he had fallen for that one.
