Simoes Spikes River to Stay Alive

With approximately 280,000 in the pot on a {j-Spades}{10-Clubs}{8-Hearts} flop, Rene Zaffran bet 100,000 and Marcelo Simoes jammed for 585,000. Zaffran thought for a bit before putting in the calling chips.

Marcelo Simoes: {k-Spades}{9-Spades}
Rene Zaffran: {q-Hearts}{q-Spades}

The {3-Diamonds} turn changed nothing, but the {k-Diamonds} spiked the river as Zaffran let out a yelp and Simoes went over to a friend to celebrate his good fortune.

Three More Hands

It was announced that players will play three more hands before bagging for the day to return for Day 3.

Ogita Eliminated by Amsellem

zedmaster84 • Level 22: 10,000-20,000, 20,000 ante

A peflop raising war got the chips into the middle between Daisuke Ogita and Jacob Amsellem with the former four-bet jamming for around 500,000 as the effective stack.

Daisuke Ogita: {a-Diamonds}{10-Hearts}
Jacob Amsellem: {k-Spades}{k-Diamonds}

The {k-Clubs}{10-Clubs}{9-Hearts} flop gave Ogita the second pair but he still needed running cards to stay alive. No more hope was left on the {3-Hearts} turn and the {2-Diamonds} river officially ended Ogita's run in the final level of the day.

Sette Finds Hero Call Against Overbet Jam

BrandonBloom • Level 22: 10,000-20,000, 20,000 ante

With roughly 200,000 in the pot on a {k-Clubs}{7-Diamonds}{5-Clubs}{2-Spades}{3-Clubs} completed board, Alexandre Sette was in the big blind and facing a jam of approximately 405,000 from Samy Boujmala in early position.

Sette took several minutes to ponder his decision while occasionally talking to himself and staring at his opponent. Eventually, he moved in chips to call.

Boujmala could only show {q-Diamonds}{j-Clubs}, and Sette slammed down {4-Clubs}{4-Hearts} onto the felt to claim the pot, as Boujmala gave him a fist-bump and made his exit from the tournament.
