Salter and Kaufman Battle Again

AaronMcBride • Level 30: 60,000-120,000, 120,000 ante

The flop was down {j-Hearts}{2-Diamonds}{8-Clubs}, and Jack Salter had checked from the big blind to Brian Kaufman who was playing from early position. Kaufman bet 220,000 and Salter called. The turn came the {j-Clubs}, and Salter check-called a 615,000 bet.

After the river had fallen the {a-Spades}, Salter checked and Kaufman, who has his opponent covered, moved all in.

At this point, Salter went into the tank and remained silent for close to two minutes before he finally said a few words to Kaufman but got no reply. He went back into silent thought for another two minutes with his tournament life on the line if he called and eventually had the clock called on him by Jan Arends.

Salter was given 30 seconds to act, and just after the tournament director informed him, he had 15 seconds left to act he folded, and Kaufman won another battle.

Francisco Benitez

Francisco Benitez made it 260,000 to go on the button and was called by Marton Czuczor in the small blind. Leonardo Patacconi three-bet to 1.0 million in the big blind and Benitez asked for the stack size of his opponent before moving all in for just over 2.0 million. Czuczor folded and Patacconi called.

Francisco Benitez: {A-Clubs}{J-Hearts}
Leonardo Patacconi: {K-Clubs}{10-Diamonds}

The {J-Clubs}{9-Diamonds}{4-Clubs} flop gave Patacconi a gutshot, and while the {6-Spades} turn was a blank, the Italian got there thanks to the {K-Spades} on the river. Benitez was eliminated in 11th place for €31,200.

The action folded to Sergey Aristov in the small blind, and he moved all in. Fellow short stack Jans Arends called and saw he was dominated.

Sergey Aristov: {a-Clubs}{j-Spades}
Jans Arends: {a-Diamonds}{2-Diamonds}

Board: {2-Clubs}{k-Diamonds}{7-Diamonds}{9-Clubs}{7-Spades}

In the next hand, he was all in on the button after Brian Kaufman had raised from early position and Jack Salter had called in the big blind.

The completed board came down {8-Spades}{9-Diamonds}{2-Spades}{10-Hearts}{4-Diamonds} and when Kaufman called an 800,000 river bet from Salter and won the pot with {q-Diamonds}{q-Clubs}. Arends was eliminated with king-jack in 12th place for €27,100.

Czuczor Flops a Boat

zedmaster84 • Level 30: 60,000-120,000, 120,000 ante

Marton Czuczor won the first hand after the break and he also claimed the second far bigger pot soon after.

Milad Oghabian raised on the cutoff and was called by the Hungarian in the small blind and Leonardo Patacconi in the big blind. On the {10-Spades}{5-Spades}{5-Hearts} flop, action checked to Oghabian and he bet 250,000, only Czuczor called. After the {Q-Hearts} turn, the Hungarian check-called a bet of 1.15 million.

The {J-Spades} on the river was checked through and Oghabian checked behind to get shown {10-Diamonds}{10-Clubs} by Czuczor, he flipped over {5-Clubs}{4-Clubs} for trips fives and patted himself on the back.

Salter Doubles Up Kaufman

AaronMcBride • Level 29: 50,000-100,000, 100,000 ante

Jack Salter raised to 400,000 from the button and Brian Kaufman called in the big blind. Both players checked on the {10-Diamonds}{7-Hearts}{q-Diamonds} flop and Kaufman checked again on the {6-Hearts} turn. Salter bet 320,000 and saw Kaufman move all in for 1.4m.

"I like your style," said Salter, but Kaufman gave no reply.

Salter spoke to Kaufman a couple more times as he contemplated his decision and ultimately called.

Kaufman tabled {a-Diamonds}{a-Clubs} and Salter showed {10-Clubs}{5-Clubs}.

The river was the {4-Hearts} and Salter missed his outs as Kaufman secured the double up.
