Dinner Break

Chad_Holloway • Level 12: 800-1,600, 200 ante

Players are now on a 75-minute dinner break, and so are we.

Barbero v. Wade

[user196676]

A player opened to 3,200 and Tristan Wade flat called. It folded around to the blinds and the small blind called as well. Jose "Nacho" Barbero looked at his cards then flung out a three-bet to 11,500. The original raiser folded while Wade decided to stick around. The small blind got out of the way and the two were heads up to the flop.

The dealer spread out a flop of {A-Diamonds}{Q-Hearts}{k-Diamonds}. Barbero continued for 14,500 and Wade called. The {6-Diamonds} hit the turn and Barbero opted to slow down with a check. After about a minute of thinking, Wade decided to check behind.

The river paired the board when the {K-Clubs} hit. Barbero threw 30,600 into the middle. Wade thought for another minute and then finally called. Barbero showed {A-Clubs}{K-Spades} for kings full of aces. Wade mucked his cards and Barbero dragged in a huge pot.

Mitrofanov Doubles Through Peters

Chad_Holloway

Vladislav Mitrofanov got his stack of 20,000 all in preflop holding {A-Clubs}{Q-Clubs} and was at risk against the {K-Clubs}{J-Diamonds} of David Peters. The board ran out an uneventful {6-Clubs}{5-Diamonds}{6-Hearts}{9-Clubs}{5-Hearts} and Mitrofanov doubled while Peters continued to slide.

Meanwhile, both Roger Hairabedian and Andy Frankenberger have been eliminated shy of the dinner break.

Peters Falling Fast

[user76079]

David Peters offers balance to a tournament in Italy. When Italians are loud in victory or defeat, Peters never seems to utter a word.

He was already on the slide before he lost a pre flop all in showdown to Rocco Busiello. The latter was down to 15,600 when he shoved from the small blind, called by Peters in the big blind.

Busiello: {a-Hearts}{2-Clubs}
Peters: {a-Spades}{k-Spades}

The Italian assumed it was all over and was out of his seat gathering his belongings. His despair turned to joy though as the board ran out {j-Spades}{6-Diamonds}{3-Spades}{2-Diamonds}{10-Hearts} to pair his kicker.
