British Online Grinders Enjoy a Super Sunday

UK & Ireland PokerNews Sunday Briefing

Sunday 31 July was a great day to have a Union Jack next to your alias in the online poker world. Not only did the England ladies win the European Championships, ending a 56-year trophy drought for English football fans, but several British online grinders padded their bankrolls with bankroll-boosting scores.

The PokerStars MicroMillions High Roller may have had an affordable buy-in of $55, but it still generated a $327,300 prize pool when 6,546 players turned out to support it. The last player standing and, therefore, recipient of $46,507 was the United Kingdom's "deanlogue," the winner of the largest prize of the bust 2022 PokerStars Sunday MicroMillions schedule.

Brits almost enjoyed a MicroMillions High Roller/Main Event double, but "jimpot139" had to make do with a second-place finish in the Main Event. "jimpot139" outlasted more than 27,500 opponents but fell at the final hurdle to turn their $22 into $26,454.

Also at PokerStars, the following players finished July 31 with sizeable prizes in their accounts.
