Busy 2022 GUKPT Season Continues With the Tour Heading to Luton

Table Of Contents
The 2022 Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) heads to Luton for the 15th time in 16 seasons from May 26 and it should be one of the busiest stops on the schedule if past events are anything to base judgement on. Luton is one of the most popular GUKPT stops, with only the 2020 edition (Season 15) missing since the GUKPT formed and that was due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
A £560 buy-in GUKPT Midi Main Event kicks things off on May 26. It has a trio of Day 1s before crowning its champion on May 28. The Midi Main Event made its debut at the 2022 GUKPT London festival and saw Alexios Zervos outlast 647 opponents and scoop £77,910.
The £250 buy-in Mini Main Event has become a staple tournament on the GUKPT circuit and is massively popular. Last season's GUKPT Luton Mini Main Event drew in a crowd of 828 players and ended in a three-way chop. Daniel Peacock finished third for £26,310, Amanpreet Singh banked £32,000 after falling in second place, while Bhavin Khatri got his hands on £35,000 and the title.
Of course, the £1,250 buy-in Main Event is the tournament everyone looks forward to. The first of three Day 1s shuffles up and deals at midday on June 2, with Day 1B and 1C taking place on June 3. We discover who the 2022 GUKPT Luton Main Event champion is on June 5.
David Docherty is the reigning champion after he came out on top of a 513-strong crowd in 2021. Docherty, a permanent fixture on the GUKPT, overcame a star-studded final table that housed the likes of Lee French, Leon Campbell, and runner-up Dominik Nitsche.
