APAT UK Team Championship Returns to Dusk Till Dawn

Reigning champions Two and a Half Nits

The UK Team Championship is one of the most eagerly anticipated events on the Amateur Poker Association & Tour (APAT) schedule, and those competing in the 2022 edition do not have long to wait before taking on their rivals. The 2022 APAT UK Team Championship takes place at Dusk Till Dawn from February 11-13.

Some 35 teams, each with eight players, have paid £120 for the chance to become the APAT UK Team Championship winners. The £28,000 prize pool is distributed on a 75/25 basis to the top five teams and the top nine individual players. In addition to prize money, the top three teams and individuals walk away with coveted gold, silver, and bronze medals.

COVID-19 put paid to the 2021 APAT Team Championship, but the 2020 edition was fiercely fought. Two and a Half Nits were crowned the 2020 champions, and the exact same team returns to Dusk Till Dawn to defend its title. Matthew Gillard, Patrick Clouden, Farhan Ahmed, David Tyler, Paul Jackson, Haydn Campbell, and Jordan Gillard each banked £875 for their victory.

Hetton Mob and APAT Degens locked in the silver and bronze medals, respectively.

The 2020 individual champion, Tom Clark, is back to defend his title; Clark is part of the East Herts Poker League that finished fourth in the team standings. Clark defeated Matt Dale heads-up to bank the individual gold medal and the £1,700 top prize.

APAT UK Team Championship Schedule

While the UK Team Championship is a sell-out, there are three side events for players to get involved with. However, each tournament has a strict player cap, so buying in sooner rather than later is advised. Players can pre-register via the Luxon Pay app, or buy their seat on the day on a first-come first-served basis.
