Leonard Reels in a $75K Score at PokerStars

Patrick Leonard

There was a lot of tournament action online this weekend with players hitting the virtual felt with renewed vigour following the conclusion of the 2021 World Series of Poker. Several players who call the United Kingdom and Ireland home scooped large prizes, including Team partypoker’s Patrick "pads1161" Leonard, who helped himself to an impressive $75,469.

Leonard’s bumper payout came courtesy of a fourth-place finish in The Big Rewind Side Event 58, a $5,200 Titans Event that drew in a 155-strong crowd. Jonathan "Proudflop" Proudfoot dusted off his stack in 18th place and was the unfortunate soul who burst the money bubble.

Proudfoot’s elimination left Leonard flying the Union Jack in the star-studded event. He kept ahead of such luminaries as Michael "imluckbox" Addamo, Team PokerStars’ Parker "tonkaaaa" Talbot, "inst_amg_zhara," Lucio "WizardOFFAz" Lima and Rui "RuiNF" Ferreira, but came unstuck in fourth place and had to make do with a $75,469 payout.

Only Andres "pintoelbajon" Viola, Eelis "EEE27" Parssinen, and champion "Pol536" went deeper than Leonard, the latter winning a cool $162,674 for their victory.
