Ridiculous Form Propels Leonard to Top of the UK Rankings

Patrick Leonard

Patrick "pleno1" Leonard finds himself back at the top of the UK Online Poker Rankings, provided by PocketFives.com, after hitting a purple patch of form. Leonard lives for the biggest tournaments but his recent results are nothing short of ridiculous.

The man from the North East finished second in the $5,200 Titans Event at PokerStars a couple of weeks ago, and walked away with $153,918. That result happened on the same evening that Leonard won the $32,027 runner-up prize in the PokerStars $1,050 Sunday High Roller.

Leonard went on to secure back-to-back WCOOP titles, winning the $5,200 NLHE 8-Max PKO High Roller for more than $120,000 and the $1,050 2-7 Single Draw event for an additional $20,475. Just last night, Leonard won the $1,050 Sunday HR Main Event at GGPoker for yet another six-figure score, one weighing in at $124,184.

Second-placed Jonathan "proudflop" Proudfoot is another British star in hot form. Had Leonard not activated Beast Mode, Proudfoot would be running away with things at the top of the UK rankings.

Proudfoot helped himself to a $90,131 score when he triumphed in the $530 NLHE WCOOP Kickoff event at PokerStars, and followed that up with several five-figure prizes, including one worth $48,788. It will be interesting to see how Proudfoot's latest hauls affect his leaderboard points tally once they are added to his profile.

Patrick "JaegsPL" Lauber returns to the UK top 20 in fourth place following a $33,687 score awarded to him for a second-place finish in the GGPoker Sunday High Rollers Kick-Off. Jareth "jareth3542" East also netted a chunky score, collecting $36,555 for a third-place finish in the $525 Bounty Hunters HR MILLION side event at GGPoker.

A doff of the cap goes to James "RUNITSRANN" Rann whose second-place finish in the GGPoker Sunday Special $88 came with a $12,558 addition to his bankroll, and to Max "1mtm91" Sanders who reeled in a $10,963 prize after finishing third in the $250 Daily Main Event at GGPoker.

O'Kearney Climbs To Third in the Irish Rankings

Dara "Doke" O'Kearney is up to third in the Irish Online Poker Rankings thanks, in part, to a final table appearance in a PokerStars WCOOP event. O'Kearney finished fourth in the $530 NLHE Deep Stack Freezeout to walk away with $22,321. The points earned from that impressive score propelled O'Kearney up the leaderboard.

Frank "Denman98" Lillis is still the man to catch; he enjoys a near 1,400 point cushion at the summit. Lillis won the GGMasters Daily $25 at GGPoker for $5,511 in what was an uncharacteristically quiet fortnight for him.

A couple of $3,000+ prizes for Alex "FutureofMe" Kulev helped him keep tabs on Lillis. Kulev banked $3,099 for a cash in the $1,050 GGMasters High Rollers, and another $3,675 for a third place finish in the PokerStars $109 Bounty Builder.

Shout-out also to Brendan "daehbonk" Naughton whose victory in the PokerStars $22 Mini Sunday Supersonic came with a $5,180 payday.
