Proudfoot Leapfrogs Leonard in the Online Poker Rankings

Jonathan Proudfoot

Jonathan “proudflop” Proudfoot has jumped ahead of Patrick “pleno1” Leonard after the latest update in the UK online poker rankings, provided by PocketFives.com. Proudfoot also climbed one place globally, and now occupies 24th place in the world standings.

Proudfoot banked several four-figure prizes, but it was his deep run in the GGPoker Super MILLION$ that saw him leapfrog his fellow Geordie. He finished 11th in the $10,300 buy-in event, a finish that came with a $31,419 score.

Former world number one Chris “moorman1” Moorman has put together some impressive results over the past week, mostly at GGPoker. Moorman does not have his WSOP.com alias on his profile, so his bracelet victory is nowhere to be seen. His two biggest prizes of the past week weighed in at $5,869 and $5,990, helping push his lifetime winnings towards $18.8 million.

Patrick “thebigdog09” Brooks helped himself to a five-figure score at GGPoker this week, thanks to finishing third in the $525 Bounty Hunters HR MILLION. With bounties included, Brooks walked away with $35,590, the eighth-largest score of his online poker career.

Lastly for the UK, at least, a mention for Ryan “ryanp” Plant. He triumphed in the PokerStars $44 Bounty Builder and scooped more than $8,000 for his troubles. The points earned from that result pushed Plant up two places to 16th in the UK.

“Denman98” Continues Domination in Ireland

Frank Lillis

Another rankings update and another week that Frank “Denman98” Lillis finds himself at the top of the Irish leaderboards. Lillis is in scintillating form right now, and continues racking up impressive results whenever he logs into his accounts.

Victory in the Hotter $215 at PokerStars yielded a score of more than $7,000, while winning the $109 Daily Cooldown came with an equally large prize. A handful of other four-figure cashes means nobody is likely to catch Lillis in the foreseeable future.

Second-placed Alex “FutureofMe” Kulev is doing all he can to hang onto the Lillis’ coattails, but it is proving difficult at best. Kulev finished second in the $125 Daily Marathon at GGPoker to secure a $4,649 payday. Despite this, Kuev still trails Lillis by 1,404 points.

Shout-out to Sven “SvenCalls” McDermott who reeled in a $15,926 score when he finished third in the WSOP Online: $250 Daily Main Event. That score is the second-largest of McDermott’s online career, the largest being $22,730 which he won for a third-place finish in a tournament at Winamax in April 2020.

Further down the top 20 you find Johnathen “johnymcc” McCullagh who collected more than $5,000 when he took down the PokerStars $55 Bounty Builder.

Towards the foot of the table, Turlough “thevirus217” McHugh was a third-place finisher in the $30 Daily Marathon at GGPoker, a result worth $2,071, while “L0rdZeus11” helped himself to $2,153 with a third-place finish in the Betfair Poker €12.5K Gtd Fists of Fury Rebuy.
