Proudfoot Continues Shining, Mounts Rankings Charge

Jonathan Proudfoot

There is a new number one in the latest online poker rankings, provided by PocketFives.com, although it is a very familiar name. Patrick "pleno1" Leonard has reclaimed top spot in the United Kingdom's standings after Bert "girafganger7" Stevens decided to remove himself from the rankings.

Leonard may be number one in the UK again, but it is Jonathan "proudflop" Proudfoot who is grabbing this week's headlines.

Proudfoot is currently second in the UK and 25th worldwide. He has been ranked as highly as fourth in the world, and could reach that lofty position again if he continues in his rich vein of form. Proudfoot cashed in the Super MILLION$ Anniversary edition at GGPoker a fortnight ago and claimed a $30,382 prize. He added an additional $34,701 to his lifetime winnings by taking down the $1,050 High Rollers Main Event, also at GGPoker.

Patrick "JaegsPL" Lauber was another player in the UK rankings to help himself to a five-figure haul. Lauber was the runner-up in the PokerStars $1,050 Sunday High Roller, a result worth $29,275. Lauber finds himself ranked 64th in the world, and is approaching his all-time high of 49th.

We mentioned Jareth "jareth3542" East banked a five-figure prize the last time we wrote about the online rankings. He has secured another bumper payout since, one worth $26,777. That was East's reward for cashing in the Super MILLION$ Anniversary edition at GGPoker.

A special mention has to go to John "JBradley" Bradley. The grinder from York does not play as high as some of the players in the UK top 20, but he certainly knows his way around a poker table. Since the last update, Bradley has won eight GGPoker tournaments outright! Most of those victories came in the Daily Hyper and Daily Turbo events with buy-ins of $50 to $100.

"SeT44" known as "$eT4x4" at PokerStars and "RelaAax" at GGPoker, makes their debut in the UK top 20 this week. The unknown player from London is ranked 17th in the UK and a career-high 251st in the world. They enjoyed a flurry of mid-four-figure scores in PKO tournaments at PokerStars and GGPoker, including one worth more than $6,000. Look out for this name in future updates.

Lillis Climbs To an All-Time High

Frank "Denman98" Lillis is on something of a heater. He not only has a massive cushion at the top of the Irish online poker rankings, but he has climbed to a career-high of 49th in the worldwide standings.

The man from Galway has been practically unstoppable over the past couple of weeks. A victory in the $125 Daily Special at GGPoker netted Lillis $6,007. Winning the $250 Daily Main Event, also at GGPoker, saw Lillis' bankroll swell by $10,684. Several other four-figure hauls followed, including one worth $4,496. The man is on fire!

Alex "FutureofMe" Kulev is the man currently closest to Lillis in the rankings, and he is doing everything he can to keep tabs on the leader. Scores of $6,008 and $6,766 would have closed the gap at the top had it not been for Lillis' superb recent form.

Shout-out to Team partypoker member Louise "lou045" Butler who returns to the top 20 this week. Butler is the highest-ranked female player in both the UK and Irish standings. She is closing in on 200 online tournament victories and $775,000 in lifetime winnings.
