Five-Figures Scores for East and Lauber

Jareth East

Bert “girafganger7” Stevens is still the man to catch in the United Kingdom online poker rankings, provided by our friends at, but there were some superb results enjoyed by the players in the chasing pack.

Patrick “JaegsPL” Lauber leapt into the top five on the back of a $14,473 score at GGPoker. Lauber finished fifth in the $1,050 High Rollers Main Event before winning almost $3,000 for a $125 Daily Marathon runner-up finish.

Jareth “jareth3542” East (lead image), who was ranked as highly as 12th in the world at one stage, bagged his own five-figure prize. East was the sixth place finisher in the $1,050 Sunday High Rollers Main Event, the third event of GGPoker’s High Rollers Week, and walked away with $40,481. East now occupies seventh place in the UK’s standings.

There are only a handful of points separating East in seventh from Patrick “thebigdog09” Brooks in sixth. East would have overtaken his fellow Brit had it not for Brook getting his hands on more than $5,500 after finishing second in the Bounty Builder Turbo Series $109 NLHE 6-Max Big Short: 20BB event at PokerStars.

Kulev Closes The Gap in Ireland

The Irish online poker rankings top 20 remains almost identical to last week’s standings, although Alex “GutureofMe” Kulev’s impressive results closed the gap between himself and Irish number one Frank “Deman98” Lillis.

Kulev began reeling in Lillis when he finished second in the $88 Daily Special at GGPoker, a result that padded his bankroll with $5,292. Kulev followed that up with a $2,083 score for finishing second in the $84 Bounty Hunters Special and with a $1,726 prize for winning the $210 Bounty Hunters Special, both results coming at GGPoker.

Lillis added to his own points tally with his handful of four-figure scores, also at GGPoker. The biggest of those prizes weighed in at $2,818, his reward for a sixth-place finish in the $525 Bounty Hunters High Roller.

Dara “Doke” O’Kearney almost took down the $162 Bounty Builder at PokerStars. The popular Irishman, who literally wrote the book on PKO tournaments, finished second and walked away with more than $4,000. O’Kearney is closing in on a top five spot in the Irish rankings.

A brace of victories at Betfair Poker for Turlough “thevirus217” McHugh cemented his place in the top 20. McHugh won the Classic €3,500 GTD for the equivalent of $1,927 and then triumphed in the €7,500 GTD Fists of Fury Rebuy for an additional $3,024.
