Chris Moorman Finishes May Strongly

Chris Moorman

Chris “moorman1” Moorman, the former world number one online poker tournament player, finished the fifth month of 2021 strongly and closed the gap on the leader in the latest online poker rankings.

Moorman remains in fourth place in the UK standings, provided by PocketFives, and is 45th in the world, but the gap between him and third-placed Jonathan “proudflop” Proudfoot has narrowed.

The British superstar increased his points tally with a $15,837 score at GGPoker. Moorman banked this when he finished fourth in the WSOPC High Rollers: $1,050 Sunday Kick-Off. He followed that score up with another fourth place finish, this time in the $525 Sunday High Rollers Fast, which netted Moorman $6,773. Throw into the mix a handful of other four-figures prizes and you can see Moorman is still a force to be reckoned with.

Patrick “JaegsPL” Lauber climbed one place to fifth in the UK on the back of a third-place finish in the $525 Bounty Hunters HR Big Boost. Lauber saw his GGPoker account swell by $7,844 courtesy of this bronze medal finish.

GGPoker was a happy hunting ground for some other British stars, too. Patrick “thebgdog09” Brooks helped himself to a $6,167 payday when he was the runner-up in a $125 Circuit Special.

John “JBradley” Bradley soared up the British rankings to 13th and 145th in the world after being crowned the Sunday Special $125 champion. Bradley, a professional grinder for more than a decade, helped himself to the $22,298 top prize.

A special mention has to go to “DLGMIS” who enters the top 20 this week. The Londoner usually frequents to low-to-mid stakes tournaments but that has not stopped them mounting a charge for a spot on the leaderboard. Their recent victory in the GGPoker $33 Daily Special saw them reel in a $2,612 score.

We mentioned last week that Dara “Doke” O’Kearney hit a purple patch of form. O’Kearney finished second in the $109 Mini Thursday Thrill for more than $7,000, and fourth in the $315 Bounty King at GGPoker for $4,034 among other results. The popular Irishman finds himself eighth in Ireland and 438th in the world right now.

Mentions have to go to Sean “monkeybudgie” Prendiville who won more than $6,000 in a PokerStars $215 Bounty Builder Turbo Series event, to Nicholas “YerSoLucky” Newport who took down the $55 Daily Marathon at PokerStars for $2,418, and to Kevin “KevinK82” Keely, whose runner-up finish in the Bigger $55 at PokerStars came with a $2,331 prize. Keely climbed into 20th place, knocking high-stakes guru Steve “MrTimCaum” O’Dwyer out of the limelight.
