Patrick Leonard Enjoys a Super Sunday

Patrick Leonard

Patrick Leonard’s beloved Newcastle United may have slipped to their eighth defeat in 10 games, putting a downer on his weekend. Leonard’s poker results helped to cheer him up, however, as he took down one tournament and went deep in several others.

Leonard’s victory came at PokerStars in the $530 Sunday Marathon, an 8-max event that attracted a compact field of 71 runners. Two of Leonard’s fellow British stars were present and correct at the final table. “Amir1193” busted in fourth for $4,020 with Jonathan “Proudflop” Proudfoot crashing out in third for $5,370.

Those exits left Leonard heads-up with David “MissOracle” Yan and the heads-up duo struck a deal that resulted in Yan banking $8,074 for his second-place finish and Leonard securing an $8,680 top prize.

A fifth-place finish in the $1,050 Sunday Cooldown saw another $6,039 wing its way to Leonard’s PokerStars account.

Let’s take a look at the other PokerStars results before we move onto the other deep runs Leonard enjoyed.
