Race For GCOOP Player of the Series Heats Up as Main Event Approaches

Grosvenor Poker GCOOP

The Grosvenor Poker GCOOP series smashed through its halfway stage on November 19 and only eight more events remain on the schedule. Ten different Grosvenor Poker players have won the 11 completed events so far, with Katie Swift being the only star to take down two events.

Four more events crowned their champions since we last checked in, “LuckyJohnny” being the first of them. They topped a field of 273-entrants in the £30 buy-in Deep and Steep to pad their bankroll with an impressive £1,521.25.

A £5 buy-in version of the Deep and Steep drew in 304 entrants who were all outlasted by “CaesarC” whose first-place prize accounted for £267.41 of the £1,428.80 prize pool.

Rebuy tournaments were next on the agenda and, again, came with £30 and £5 buy-ins. Obvious Tottenham Hotspur fan “bringbackpotch” triumphed in the £30 buy-in edition which saw them collect £2,362.44 with “m0deSelektor” being crowned champion in the £5 buy-in Rebuy, an accolade that came with a £539.73 payout.

Remaining GCOOP Events; Main Event On November 22

Another eight tournaments are waiting in the wings, but one of those stands out from the crowd.

November 22 at 18:00 GMT sees the GCOOP #17 shuffle up and deal. This tournament is, of course, the massive GCOOP Main Event.

It commands a £110 buy-in and for that you receive 15,000 chips and play to a 15-minute clock where the blinds start at 25/50/4a. Late registration is open for 14 levels, or 3 hours 30 minutes in real money, during which time you’re permitted to purchase up to five re-entries. Oh, and there’s £30,000 guarantee to be won, but the final prize pool will be more significant than we’re sure.

This is because almost a dozen £30 satellites into the £110 GCOOP Main Event are scheduled before the tournament gets underway. The best value of these satellites starts at 17:00 on November 22, an hour before the Main Event kicks off.

It costs £30 to enter but Grosvenor Poker is guaranteeing 10 Main Event seats will be won. That’s a pretty sweet deal.

Current Player of the Series Standings

The race to become the GCOOP Player of the Series is super close and it’s difficult to predict who is going to win that £1,500 tickets package come the end of the series. This is because leaderboard points are doubled during the Main Event, meaning you can secure up to 300 points from that event alone!

“Traderno1” and “flora1978” are tied at the top with 365 points with “stpokred2020” only five points behind those leaders. They have the advantage right now but the race really is wide open.
