Weekend Preview: WPTWOC Main Event, Sunday Special, and Global MILLION$
Table Of Contents
The 2020 WSOP Online may be confined to our memories after its conclusion earlier this week, but there are still some massive tournaments to get your teeth into this weekend.
PokerStars’ WCOOP is in full swing and there's a trio of huge PKO tournaments under the name Sunday Slam you can play there, but this latest Weekend Preview highlights three massive events to look at that are taking place at partypoker, 888poker, and GGPoker.
$10 Million Guaranteed WPTWOC Main Event
The $10 million guaranteed WPT World Online Championships Main Event kicked off last weekend with the first of two starting flights. Some 521 players flocked to partypoker and exchanged $10,300 for 200,000-chips and a dream.
Blaz Zerjav finished Day 1A as the chip leader and you have the chance to follow in his footsteps on September 13 when Day 1B gets underway.
Day 1B commences at 8:05 p.m. CEST on September 13 and commands a $10,300 buy-in. Everyone buying in receives the same 200,000 starting stack and plays to a ridiculously good blind structure starting at 500/1,000/125a. The blinds increase every 25-minutes and there are no noticeable jumps.
Late registration is open until the end of the ninth level and only one re-entry is permitted to give everyone a chance of becoming a WPWOC champion. The action pauses after the 18th level is done and dusted and the surviving players return to their seats at 8:05 p.m. CEST on September 14. Play continues until only nine players remain and they sit back down on September 16 to play out the final table.
There are satellites galore for the Main Event and these start as low as $2.20. Keep an eye out for WPT Daily Special tournaments as partypoker is adding WPT tickets to their prize pools. Four of the Mini Main Event finalists won their ticket via this route and ended up sharing almost $950,000 between them!
Check Out The $100,000 Gtd 888Millions Sunday Special
The 888Millions SuperStorm festival kicked off on September 10 but it is a new tournaments on September 13 at 7:00 p.m. CEST that’s caught our eye. The 888Millions Sunday Special costs $215 to enter and features a $100,000 guaranteed prize pool.
That buy-in results in you sitting down with 50,000-chips and play to a 12-minute clock where the cost of the first round is 150/300/40a. Three rebuys are permitted for the first 210-minutes should you somehow dust off your stack and fancy another bite at the cherry.
888poker’s higher buy-in tournaments have struggled to hit their guarantees of late, especially the $109 buy-in Sunday $100,000 Mega Deep so this could be another tournament that has an overlay. Only time will tell.
Turn $100 Into a Share of a Guaranteed $1 Million
The WSOP may be over but GGPoker isn’t slowing down with its big guaranteed tournament offerings. The Global MILION$ has Day 1s running throughout the week and there are three of them taking place on September 13.
Each costs $100 to enter, unless you manage to win you way via a satellite or by using T$. There’s a Day 1 at 2:00 p.m., 4:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. CEST on September 13, with the last tournament being a Last Chance affair where the clock is set to six-minutes instead of 12-minutes to ensure those who progress from it finish in time to compete on the Final Day.
Speaking of which, the Final Day starts at exactly 8:30 p.m. CEST on September 13 and should feature a top prize in excess of $100,000. Will you claim the lion’s share of the prize pool this weekend?
