Tournament Spotlight: $150 GGMasters WSOP Edition [Freezeout], $1m GTD
Table Of Contents
We're back with another Tournament Spotlight which aims to showcase some of the most exciting poker tournaments that are happening this weekend. This week it's the turn of the $150 GGMasters WSOP Edition!
Launched in February, the GGMasters originally came with a $300,000 guarantee before being increased to $500,000 later in the year.
There is also a Player of the Year leaderboard for this tournament, granting one player a $500,000 GGPoker sponsorship package.
GGMasters and the Poker Dream
GGPoker Ambassador Felipe Ramos has called the tournament "simply amazing" and says that the sponsorship package is reigniting players' hopes of achieving the 'Poker Dream'
"I think GG brought back to life the Poker Dream, this term that we used to refer to in the 2000's - play poker for a living. To play for high a guarantee prizepool with only $150 buy-in and no reentry/add-on it is just pure poker. I love freezeout tournaments."
Brazilian grinder Ricardo “Sambalele” Nascimentio is the man to catch currently thanks to a win and a handful of in-the-money finishes, and he will be looking for another good showing, not only to cement his position atop the standings, but to potentially walk away with a coveted WSOP gold bracelet.
GGMasters WSOP Edition
This weekend Event #57: $150 GGMasters WSOP Edition gets added value with the guarantee doubled to $1,000,000. The buy-in is still $150 and the tournament is a freezeout meaning no second chances! Even Daniel Negreanu will only get one bullet at this event.
The tournament starts at 18:00 (BST) on Sunday, August 9th 2020. Players receive 10,000 chips and there are three hours of late registration. Levels are 12 minutes long.
