$100 Million WPT World Online Championships Kick Off
The first of 12 Championship Events of the WPT World Online Championships kicks off at partypoker on July 18. Lovers of four hole cards will flock to partypoker in droves hoping to take down the Pot Limit Omaha Hi-Low Championship.
The $3,200 buy-in event isn’t for the faint-hearted as some of the best PLO8 players in the world will be in attendance. Having the chance to bank the lion’s share of the $500,000 guaranteed prize pool will be a strong lure, as will the 100,000 starting stack and the 20-minute clock that starts at 250/500/65a.
There are satellites feeding into this huge PLO8 event, plus there are Mini and Micro editions for those of you without the bankroll to feed a $3,200 buy-in.
$150,000 is guaranteed in the Mini, which costs $320 to enter. $50,000 will be won in the $33 buy-in Micro.
All three tournaments have the same starting stack and blind structure. They also feature two Day 1s, Day 1A starting at 6:00 p.m. BST on July 18 and Day 1B starting at 6:00 p.m. BST on July 19.
Play ends after the completion of the 20th level before resuming at 7:00 p.m. BST on July 20. Will you become the WPTWOC’s first champion?
Three More Huge Stadium Series Weekly Final Freezeouts
Three more Stadium Series Weekly Finals shuffle up and deal on July 19 with combined guarantees worth a cool $3.5 million. Buy-ins for this events weigh in at $11, $109 and $1,050 with guarantees of $500,000 for the smaller amount and $1.5 million for the two larger events.
Last week’s finals drew in bumper crowds and paid out some bankroll-boosting prizes.
Brazil’s “BK AK 171” took down the $5.50 edition for $15,401 with “McFadden92” of Argentina triumphing in the $55 version for a $69,030 score. Mike “munchenHB” Telker won the $530 High version and scooped $157,004. The latest Weekly Finals have buy-ins twice the size of the previous edition and much larger guarantees so expect some ridiculously large prizes awarded.
You can either buy into each of these finals direct or try win your way in from as little as $0.55. Don’t forget PokerNews’ Live Reporting team is on hand to bring you all the action from the $1,050 buy-in $1.5 million guaranteed Stadium Series Weekly Final, so tune in and see the champion crowned.
Get Ready For A Good Tournament
888poker recently went back to basics with its Freezeout Series and this weekend is running another player-friendly event known simply as A Good Tournament.
This $215 buy-in affair features a brace of starting flights, Day 1A commencing at 8:35 p.m. BST on July 18 and Day 1B at 5:35 p.m. on July 19. Day 2 starts promptly at 8:00 p.m. BST on July 20.
Everyone in A Good Tournament sits down with a generous starting stack of 30,000 chips and plays to 12-minute clock where blinds start at 150/300/40a. Both Day 1s last for 14 levels or until 17% of the field remains. Anyone with chips in front of them at this point progresses to Day 2.
Re-entries are limited to once per flight and late registration is open for the first 100-minutes. There’s a $20,000 guarantee on this event, although we’d expect the actual prize pool to be larger, especially as there’s a plethora of satellites running from only $12.
