Another champion has been crowned during the 2020 Spring Championship Of Online Poker (SCOOP) and it was Mirza "zazano" Muhovic that emerged victoriously in SCOOP-57-H: $5,200 NLHE High Roller to earn the biggest slice out of the $1,000,000 prize pool.

Out of a field of 184 entries filled with some of the biggest names in poker, Muhovic had to overcome a tough final table which he entered as the chip leader and never once lost the top spot for the remainder of the tournament. In heads-up, Muhovic defeated Joel "Odonkor1" Nordkvist to earn a payday of $201,606 while Nordkvist had to settle for $155,222 and his second runner-up finish within a week.

For Muhovic it was also the second final table of the current festival as he finished in 5th place out of 285 entries in SCOOP-35-H: $2,100 6-Max NLHE for a payday of $32,843.91 on Day 9 of the 2020 SCOOP.

Three days later, "Pimmss" leads the final 27 of Event #62-H [8-Max, PKO, High Roller] $1M Gtd, taking a stack of 6.57 million into the money for Friday’s Day 2.

The tournament generated 235 entries from 172 players to result in a total prize pool of $1,175,000. It took just over seven hours of play for that number to reach 27, with Day 1 ending upon reaching the money. The names that follow in the counts provide just a glimpse into the caliber of players that filled the tournament. Juan “Malaka$tyle” Pardo (5.55 million) and Preben “prebz” Stokkan (5.51 million) are the only other two players above 5 million, and Niklas “Lena900” Astedt (4.72 million) and Pieter “XMorphineX” Aerts round out the top five, with Astedt making it through on his second bullet of the tournament.

SCOOP 62-H will conclude tonight. Follow along with PokerNews live coverage of this event.

SCOOP 62-M: $530 NLHE PKO Thursday Thrill SE in Full Swing

With a few minutes left in Level 24, Day 1 of the PokerStars 2020 Spring Championship of Online Poker 62-M: $530 NLHE PKO Thursday Thrill SE finished with 190 players making it through to Day 2. The first four and a half hours of the tournament attracted 3,094 entries to the $1,000,000 guarantee to end up surpassing it by more than 50% as the total prize pool tallied up to be $1,547,000.

Taking the Day 1 chip lead honors is "gnetaren" from Sweden with 4,542,547 in chips. "gnetaren" only jumped into the top ten of the counts during the last hour of the day and ended up on top. they are no stranger to deep runs in tournaments with the PKO-format as they took down the Turbo Series 12: $530 NLHE [6-Max, Progressive KO] back in 2018 for example.

Second in the counts is a familiar name: Sven "SvenCalls" McDermott with 4,410,946 in his Day 2 "bag". McDermott scooped a big pot just before the end of the day when he collected the bounties of "marlin5555" and "trisgaudi" when he held pocket jacks. He was up against the ace-king of "marlin5555" and king-queen of "trisgaudi".
