Unibet Poker Move All 2020 Live Events Online
Unibet Poker have today announced that all land-based poker events will move to their online poker room for the rest of the year, with three Unibet Open Onlines scheduled for 2020.
The Unibet Open Tallinn has already been combined with the Unibet Online Series, but there will now be no Unibet Poker live events until at least 2021.
In addition, there will be Fall and Winter Unibet Open Onlines, in September and December respectively, with dates to be confirmed.
Health and Uncertainty a Priority
In a statement, Unibet Head of Events Nataly Sopacuaperu said it was a decision that hasn't been taken lightly.
"We fully understand the impact to our partners and the land-based venues," said Sopacuaperu, "However, as a priority, we must consider not only the health of our customers, but also the difficulty for recreational players with regards to planning trips around uncertainty."
Unibet have announced that they are already planning on how to bring the fun associated with their land-based product to the online world, and are welcoming ideas from players via the Unibet community forum, where players can talk directly to senior members of the poker team.
Head of Poker Kristoffer Bergvall said that the online client is "better equipped than ever" to manage the switch from "IRL to URL".
"We are all in agreement that this is the best way to ensure the consistency and reliability that people have come to expect from our product, and the online room is better equipped than ever to house our land-based fans."
The €1,000,000 GTD Unibet Online Series gets underway on the 1st May culminating with the €1,100 buy-in Unibet Open Main Event on 24th May.
Satellites are already running in the Unibet Poker client, where you can win your tickets to one of 132 events on the series schedule!
