Beresford and “Rowniwn” Top UK & Ireland Online Poker Rankings

Conor Beresford

There is so much online poker being played right now that the UK & Ireland Online Poker Rankings, provided by, don’t know whether they’re coming or going! Several online poker sites are running massive festivals and the huge prizes awarded in those is having a profound effect on the latest standings.

Conor “1_conor_b_1” Beresford is still the man to catch in the UK rankings. Beresford helped himself to a $33,641 score last week to keep the chasing pack at bay. He’ll extend his lead by some margin at the next update, however, because he triumphed in the PokerStars $5,200 NLHE Main Event and walked away with $378,205 and more than 1,400 leaderboard points.

Sam “TheSquid” Grafton returned to the top 10 despite being outside the top 20 last week. Grafton finished second in another $5,200 NLHE High Rollers Main Event and secured a $343,095 prize.

Second-placed Patrick “pleno1” Leonard is doing everything in his power to keep tabs on Beresford at the top of the leaderboard. The partypoker pro padded his bankroll with a $12,664, and $16,083 prize before reeling in a $75,009 score. Leonard has been battling with the COVID-19 virus, but is now back to full health and that spells bad news for his opponents at the tables.

A high roller POWERFEST victory for Kenny “SpaceyFCB” Hallaert propelled the UK-based Belgian into fourth-place while adding $31,255 to the coffers.

Ryan “ryanp” Plant is in hot form at the moment. He’s followed up his victory in a GG Masters tournament with a volley of big prizes. Just last week, Plant locked up a $15,606 prize and a cool $35,230 last week, both at GGPoker.

Shout-outs also to “1mtm91” who won the Hotter $109 at PokerStars for $22,151 and finished fourth in the GGPoker Zodiac Dragon High Roller for $11,652. Also to Henri “Buehlero” Buehler who was the last man standing in the GGPoker Zodiac Dragon High Roller for $15,256.

Ireland Has a New Number One!

“Rowniwn” has soared to the summit of the Irish online poker rankings after a slew of superb results in recent weeks. The Irish grinder shows as being in Austria when they play at PokerStars, which is where their recent form has been.

They finished sixth in a $1,050 High Rollers event for $8,180, won the Big $215 for $6,733 and finished second in a $530 Bounty Builder High Roller for more than $7,500 all on the same day. Several more four-figure prizes followed before Rowniwn scooped more than $33,000 for a runner-up finish in another $530 Bounty Builder High Roller.

These results pushed Rowniwn to the top of the Irish standings and a career-best 121st in the world. If only they had their partypoker alias registered, who knows how high in the world rankings they’d be.

Ronan “Sw33ney” Sweeney is in second-place but within touching distance of the leader. Sweeney is only 51 points behind Rowniwn in the rankings and he kept tabs on the in-form grinder by winning the Big $109 at PokerStars for $10,576.

It was an otherwise quiet week for those calling the Emerald Isle home, although Kevin “SuitedAcesBaby” Killeen helped himself to a $5,477 score, while Nicholas “yerSoLucky” Newport and Aidan “aidohynes” Hynes padded their bankrolls with $4,193 and $2,947 prizes respectively.
