UK & Ireland Sunday Briefing: Another Near Miss For Beresford

Conor Beresford

Conor “1_conor_b_1” Beresford found himself finishing second in a PokerStars Bounty Builder Series event for the second time in as many weeks on February 16th.

Beresford scooped $24,000 last week but this weekend’s prize was for bigger, weighing in at $52,045. This runner-up finish came in the $2,100 Bounty Builder Series 177: $2,100 NLHE event. He lost out to UK-based “B4NKR0LL3R”, who won the Sunday Million a fortnight ago. B4NKR0LL3R secured a cool $102,045 for their impressive victory.

Patrick “pads1161” Leonard found himself in the winner’s circle when he triumphed in the $530 Sunday Marathon. Leonard banked $20,295 and was joined on the final table by fellow British grinder “ReWARds84” who busted in eighth for $3,119.

A trio of Union Jacks were spotted at the finale of the $530 Bounty Builder High Roller, with one of them finishing on top of the pile of 956-entrants.

Damien “DamoWain” Wain finished in eighth-place for a combined prize worth $10,961, while “chtrumfeinz” finished in seventh for $8,158.

Phil “PhilRoyall888” Mighall went all the way and emerged victorious, a fantastic result netting the Bright-based pro a cool $68,546.

888poker proved to be a happy hunting ground for two of our players. Ireland’s “fastfingers” almost went all the way in the XL Blizzard Main Event, a $250 buy-in tournament that saw 2,077 entrants. The Irish grinder banked $46,000 for their third-place finish.

We had a winner at 888poker, namely “usainzeus25” who won the $20,000 Sunday Challenge for $5,031.

There wasn’t much to shout about at GGPoker although “JanisJoplin69” gave us something to shout about when they finished third in the High Roller Bounty Warm-Up, turning $210 into a combined $6,993.

The player known as “ImLividBuddy” finished second in the $1K High Rollers for $11,146 but we are led to believe this may actually be Michael Addamo or Daniel Dvoress.

  • Conor Beresford finishes second, again, in a PokerStars Bounty Builder Series event, this time for $52,045.
