More Than $1.6M Gtd in the partypoker KO Super Sunday

KO Super Sunday at partypoker

partypoker is the place to head on February 23rd if you’re a fan of PKO tournaments because it is running KO Super Sunday.

The impromptu series features 20 action-packed progressive bounty tournaments with combined guaranteed prize pools in excess of $1.6 million.

Those 20 tournaments are spread across six events, each broken down into at least three different buy-in levels, much like partypoker’s recent KO Series. Buy-ins start at only $2.20 and increase to the $2,100 Super High Rollers.

There’s a decent selection of different formats to keep partypoker players on their toes. The three opening tournaments are all Mix-Max 8-6 where play begins on eight-handed tables before switching to six-max in the latter stages.

Other formats include the traditional 8-Max, 6-Max Pot-Limit Omaha, 8-Max with a faster blind structure, and 8-Max with turbo blinds.

What is a PKO Tournament?

PKO is the acronym for Progressive Knockout and its name gives you a clue into what lies in store. Traditional bounty tournaments award a cash payment for every opponent you send to the showers. This bounty remains the same size throughout the tournament.

PKOs differ here because the value of the bounties changes. When you win a bounty in a PKO tournament, 50% of its value lands in your account immediately. The remaining half goes onto your own head, increasing the value of your own bounty this making you a more attractive target for your opponents.

For example, in a partypoker PKO tournament with a $109 buy-in, $50 goes into the main prize pool, $50 onto your head, and $9 is taken as a tournament fee (rake). If you bust a player with a $50 bounty on their head, you win $25 cash and the bounty on your head increases to $75.

This system often creates massive bounties, especially towards the business end of the tournament and at the final table. The best thing is you win your own bounty if you are crowned the PKO tournament’s champion. This final payment will be huge, as you can imagine.
