Another Big Win For dawhiteninja As Brits Excel on Feb. 11

Andrew Wool

The horrible weather must have contributed to an increased volume of British players flocking to PokerStars on February 11th because dozens of our players managed to book substantial midweek scores. Andrew “dawhiteninja” Wool was one of those finding themselves padding their bankroll after a successful midweek grind.
Wool helped himself to a $42,004 prize three weeks ago when he finished as the runner-up in the Half Price Sunday Warm-Up. Yesterday, he took his lifetime winnings past $630,000 courtesy of taking down the $109 Mini Super Tuesday for $14,027.

A field of 840-hopefuls bought into the Mini Super Tuesday at PokerStars and created an $84,000 prize pool. Wool got his hands on the lion’s share of this cash after defeating Latvia’s “Iveymaker” heads-up. Victory was made all the more sweeter by the fact Wool had to contend with some excellent opponents at the final table.

“Pthelegend” of Canada lost their stack in sixth-place for $2,695 while the legendary high stakes cash game specialist Rui “RuiNF” Ferreira busted in third for $7,251.

This is Wool’s sixth five-figure prize from his online exploits, adding to the two he has in the live arena.

Ireland’s Ronan “Sw33ney” Sweeney almost joined Wool in the winner’s circle but instead had to make do with the $2,782 consolation prize offered in the Big $109. Sweeney fell at the final hurdle, losing out to Canadian grinder “blazinchron” heads-up.

Luke “Bit2Easy” Reeves banked a $6,359 score when he finished sixth in the $1,050 Daily Warm-Up, while “losero88” netted $5,567 for their third-place exit in the $109 Bounty Builder (including bounties).

Some of the other final table appearances and big scores at PokerStars included:

Three other British players joined Gill at the final table. “Mackster90” busted in sixth for $1,270 with “hateps” collecting $1,524 for their fifth-place finish. “raplunks” netted $2,222 for their fourth-place elimination.

The player known as “carmen.1957” finished fifth in the $10,000 PKOctopus for a combined prize weighing in at $576, while Ireland’s “panda7a” scooped $4,500 for a sixth-place finish in the $320 XL Blizzard #17 - $100,000 High Roller.
