Beresford is the former UK number one, although he currently trails “girafganger7” by almost 2,500 points at present, such is girafganger7’s incredible form.

The UK-based Belgian also excelled at partypoker with a third-place finish in the High Roller Bounty Hunter Fast for $7,987 before taking down a $500 buy-in tournament on Natural8 for an additional $7,017.

Jason Tompkins Returns to Irish Top 20

Jason “blaaaaaah666” Tompkins is one of Ireland’s hottest properties and while he plays a lot of cash games, he is also well adept at tournament poker. Tompkins climbed to 19th in the Irish standings this week after winning the Betfair Poker €2,000 Night Club for $942 and finishing sixth in the PokerStars $22 Double Deuce for $2,409.

Sat at the top of the pile is Steve “MrTimCaum” O’Dwyer who enjoys a lead of more than 1,300-points over Ronan “Sw33ney” Sweeney. O’Dwyer may not log as much volume as his peers, but he seems to have an almost unnatural ability to go deep in the tournaments he players. A seventh-place finish in the PokerStars Bigger $215 bagged him $2,950 while his second-place finish in the $530 Daily 500 saw his bankroll swell by $11,691.

Sweeney has been doing everything he can to stop O’Dwyer disappearing into the distance by securing several four-figure prizes, including a $3,880 score awarded to Sweeney for winning the partypoker Daily Grind: $20K Gtd and the partypoker Warm Up: $10K Gtd for $2,891.

Two players who log a serious amount of volume are Tomas “luckymo32” Geleziunas and James “Jaymo” Noonan. Geleziunas cashed more than 70-times last week with Noonan not been too far off that impressive figure either.

Sven “SvenCalls” McDermott found himself in the winner’s circle when he triumphed in the $11 Mini Sunday Wrap-Up at PokerStars for $2,418, while Conor “ccoonnoorr” O’Driscoll won the $4,000 Deepstack Starfish at 888poker for a $1,054 prize.

Special mention too to Brendan “daehbonk” Naughton who won the PokerStars $33 NLHE 6-Max Turbo PKO for more than $10,000.
