£100,000 Guaranteed in the GUKPT Edinburgh Main Event
The Grosvenor Maybury Casino is preparing to host the 2019 Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) Edinburgh festival for the sixth consecutive year and hundreds of poker players are expected to buy into the £560 Main Event that features a £100,000 guaranteed prize pool.
Edinburgh first appeared on the GUKPT in Season 8 with the inaugural GUKPT Edinburgh Main Event attracting a field of 192 players. Andrew Teng was the last man standing and he padded his bankroll with the £26,000 first-place prize.
James Mitchell triumphed in the GUKPT Edinburgh Main Event on Season 9, topping a field of 234 players to secure the £33,900 top prize, which was the largest score in the GUKPT Edinburgh Main Event until Garry Stevens-Smith was crowned the tournament’s champion last year and banked £36,350.

The 2019 GUKPT Edinburgh festival kicks off on Mar. 31 with the £10,000 guaranteed Main Event Mini. This £115 buy-in tournament has proven popular at all GUKPT stops since its creation, with last season’s Edinburgh Mini Main seeing a £22,000 prize pool created; Grant Hall won the tournament for £3,900 after a four-way deal.
Other events include an Omaha 4/5/6 tournament, a £220 no-limit Hold’em event and a £110 no-limit Hold’em bounty hunter tournament where everyone has a £50 bounty on their heads from the moment the first cards are pitched.
It is the Main Event, however, that everyone will be going all out to win. We would expect a host of familiar faces to compete in the £100,000 guaranteed tournament, including Jamie O’Connor, Ali Mallu and Grosvenor Poker sponsored pros Andy Hills and Jeff Kimber.
Kimber has been a big supporters of the GUKPT since its inception and leads the way with total Main Event cashes (17), total cashes including side events (53), Main Event final tables (11) and all-time GUKPT winnings including side events ($557,136).
