UK & Ireland Online Poker Rankings: Combes Climbs, Jones and Holman Return

It was a relatively quiet week for online poker tournament players calling the United Kingdom and Ireland home, partly due to the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS UK festival running and the 2018 World Series of Poker Europe grabbing the attention of our elite grinders, but there was still plenty to shout about.

Charlie “chaz_man_chaz” Combes has climbed to 12th in the UK standings, provided by, after a string of impressive results. Combes won the PokerStars Bounty Builder Series 01: $109 NLHE 6-Max for a combined score of $57,193, finished fifth in the 888poker $60,000 Whale for $4,650 and managed to win a $109 NLHE 8-Max tournament at PokerStars for $2,079.

Returning to the UK top 20 is Ben “jenbizzle” Jones who seems to have hit form again. Jones won the $175K Gtd Super Tuesday at PokerStars a couple of weeks ago for $35,234 then finished third in the $1,050 Wednesday High Roller for an additional $15,621 before being the runner-up in the Daily 500 for $7,711 all in the space of three days.

Andy “andyh26” Holman is another player returning to the limelight following a runner-up finish in the PokerStars $215 Sunday Supersonic worth $17,587 and a second-place finish in the Big $215, also at PokerStars, for $4,323.

UK-based Belgian “girafganger7” closed the gap on the top three by winning $11,472 by finishing fourth in the PokerStars $1,050 Fast Friday 8-Max Turbo while another poker refugee in David “davaman” Lopez secured a $17,610 prize for being the third-place finisher in the PokerStars $1,050 Monday 6-Max.

Wes “wesko78” Farrell Enters Irish Top 10

Wes “wesko78” Farrell is up to sixth-place in the Irish rankings and a career-high 345th in the world standings following several four-figure scores. Farrell netted $3,534 by finishing third in the PokerStars Big $109 last week, his biggest score over the past seven days.

James “Jaymo” Noonan locked up more than $5,000 by winning the $10K Gtd 6-Max Bounty Hunter at partypoker while Sven “SvenCalls” McDermott also won at partypoker in the Main Event Fast: $5K Gtd Mix-Max, a result worth $1,056.

High volume grinder Tomas “luckymo32” Geleziunas scooped a $5,279 prize when he took down the $109 Sunday Wrap-Up at PokerStars with Nicholas “YerSoLucky” Newport helping himself to the $2,671 third-place prize of the partypoker Main Event: $25K Gtd.

Mention also to “rtspurs” who continues to impress in the Omaha games and can brag of winning the $82 NLO8 6-Max Hyper-Turbo at PokerStars for $1,562 among his many cashes over the past week.
