Major Live Poker Tournaments in the UK & Ireland During October
The 10th month of 2018 looks set to be relatively quite for live poker tournament grinders with only a handful of events taking place in the United Kingdom and Ireland. Although the number of live events is far less than we have seen in recent months, there is still a heap of value waiting to be had for those stepping away from their computers.
The month begins with the final week of the partypoker LIVE MILLIONS UK festival. The £8 million guaranteed festival kicks off on Sep. 29 and runs through to Oct. 7. Heading to Dusk Till Dawn casino, Nottingham in October will give you the chance to play in the £5 million guaranteed MILLIONS UK Main Event (£5,300 buy-in), the £1 million guaranteed Super High Roller (£25,500), the £500,000 guaranteed Finale (£1,100) and the £1 million guaranteed High Roller (£10,300).
Two Genting Poker Series (GPS) events are scheduled for October. There’s a £440 buy-on £100,000 guaranteed GPS Main leg taking place in Edinburgh with a £220 buy-in £35,000 guaranteed GPS Mini hosted in Sheffield.

Leg 7 of the 2018 Grosvenor UK Poker Tour (GUKPT) features a £200,000 guaranteed Main Event costing £1,110 to enter. The eight-day festival features a raft of tournaments at the Grosvenor G Casino in Luton.
Keeping with Grosvenor-run events, head to Coventry on the weekend of Oct. 4 for another 25/25 Series event. These popular tournaments only cot £225 to enter yet boast of a £25,000 guaranteed prize pool. As they are recreational player friendly, the fields tend to be much softer than a typical £225 buy-in tournament.
Rounding off the month are a brace of Amateur Poker Association & Tour (APAT) events. The English Amateur Poker Championship heads to the North East for an £87 buy-in affair, while Irish amateurs can get involved in a €120 buy-in Irish Amateur Poker Championship at the Bonnington in Dublin.
