Sylvia Hewitt Crowned partypoker LIVE £250K Deepstack Champion
Sylvia Hewitt triumphed in the Ladies Event at the Venetian Deepstack in Las Vegas less than two months ago and now she has added another live poke title to her resume after winning the partypoker LIVE £250K Gtd Deepstack at Dusk Till Dawn.
partypoker LIVE £250K Gtd Deepstack Final Table Results
A field of 489 players exchanged £550 for the chance to become a poker champion and to win a share of the £250,000 guaranteed prize pool. Dusk Till Dawn paid out the top 53 finishers so spare a thought for George Demetriou who busted in 54th place to become the last player to leave the Nottingham club empty handed.
Plenty of DTD regulars navigated their way deep into the money. Rupinder Bedi busted in 22nd place, Kyriacos Dionysiou fell in 17th place, Matthew Eardley was the 15th place finisher and Ben Spraggons saw their tournament end in 11th place. Spraggons missed out on a free £5,300 MILLIONS UK Main Event seat because of his 11th place finish as only the final 10 players got their hands on a seat.
Mark Gardner was the first player to fall at the final table, his ninth-place finish netting him £3,500. Gardner was followed to the rail by Ezaldin Adams, David Benoit-Janin and Alexsandrs Golubevs, the latter being the final player not to lock up a five-figure score.
Timothy Chung, a talented player with almost $500,000 in live poker tournament winnings, exited in fifth-place for £10,000 with Xuan Nguyen and Charles Akadiri busting in fourth and third-place respectively.
Akadiri’s bust out left Hewitt and Jack Allen to battle it out heads-up for the title. Allen won a £500 buy-in event at DTD in Aug. 2014 for £38,000 but he couldn’t quite finish the job this time around, crashing out in second place for £26,000 and leaving Hewitt to bask in the glory of winning for the second time in less than two month, this time with £40,000 in her back pocket.
Players can get involved in another £250,000 guaranteed Deepstack during the weekend of Sep. 2. partypoker LIVE is running a special promotion where anyone buying into the £550 event with PP LIVE Dollars will not have to pay the £50 registration fee.
