  • This weekend's PokerStars Live London Series champion will get their hands on a $30,000 Platinum Pass.

One lucky poker player will win a sizeable cash sum and a $30,000 Platinum Pass this weekend when the PokerStars Live London Series heads to the Hippodrome Casino.

The £275 PokerStars Live London Series has four starting flights to choose from, each one seeing players sit down with 25,000 chips; blinds increase every 30-minutes. Day 1A commences at 2:00 p.m. on Mar. 9 with Day 1B shuffling up and dealing at 8:00 p.m. also on Mar. 9.

Day 1C starts at 2:00 p.m. on Mar. 10, Day 1D gets underway at 8:00 p.m. on Mar. 10 and the eventual champion is crowned at some point on Day 2 on Mar. 11, which begins at 2:00 p.m. Players are permitted to make one re-entry per flight.

Sandwiched between Day 1C and Day 1D on Mar. 10 is a £110 Double Chance Freezeout where players can make a single rebuy until Level 4 and a rebuy or single add-on is available at the first break.

Li Youzhou triumphed in the last PokerStars Live London Series that run in November 2017. Youzhou outlasted a field of 363 players to get his hands on £17,077; he defeated Italy’s Pino Marco heads-up to resign his opponent to a £10,827 consolation prize.

Platinum Pass to be Awarded

PokerStars has announced it is to award the tournament’s champion a Platinum Pass worth $30,000. The Platinum Pass is used for the PokerStars Players Championship (PSPC) to be held at the 2019 PokerStars Caribbean Adventure. The PSPC is set to be the richest $25,000 buy-in tournament in the history of poker, thanks in part to PokerStars giving away $9 million worth of Platinum Passes.

Each Platinum Pass awards its winner:

  • The $25,000 buy-in to the PSPC
  • Six nights' accommodation at Atlantis Resort Nassau
  • $2,000 in travel expenses
  • Some exciting yet-to-be announced rewards and surprises
