APAT Releases Most Ambitious WCOAP On Record

The Amateur Poker Association & Tour (APAT) runs its World Championship Of Amateur Poker (WCOAP) every year and the 2018 editions is its most-ambitious yet.

Hundreds of APAT members look forward to the WCOAP schedule being published as it gives them the chance to experience a poker festival similar to the World Series of Poker but with buy-ins that are affordable and opponents who are like-minded.

APAT recently revealed the full schedule for the 2018 WCOAP and the tour’s vibrant forum has been buzzing with excitement ever since. Taking place at the Grosvenor Casino Bury New Road in Manchester from Mar. 31-Apr. 8, the nine-day festival features a staggering 33 bracelet-awarding events and a Champion of Champions tournament, which pitches previous APAT champions against each other and where the eventual winner bags themselves a trip to Las Vegas in June 2018.

Some of the scheduled events include a seven-card stud championship, an 8-game championship, a bounty tournament, a Deepstack championship, pot-limit Omaha, Tag Team event, a heads-up tournament and open-face Chinese poker.

Buy-ins for the 2018 WCOAP events start at £57 and increase up to £220; the 2018 WCOAP Main Event commands a £110 buy-in. Last year’s Main Event attracted a field of 257 entrants and saw Dave Howard outlast them all to secure a £7,055 payout.
