UK & Ireland Online Poker Rankings: New Names Enter Top 20

Mihaita Constantin Croitoru

There are a handful of new names among the top 20 online poker tournament players, ranked by PocketFives.com, in the UK and Irish standings, with one such player making his debut in eighth place in the UK.

Known as “$odomiz€r” at PokerStars, Mihaita Constantin Croitoru has amassed more than $410,000 in online poker tournament winnings, with a quarter of that sum stemming from his largest cash of $104,803. This princely sum was awarded for him winning the $530 NLHE High Roller WCOOP Low event at PokerStars on Sep. 11.

Croitoru only has cashed dating back to the beginning of 2017, but has hit the ground running and looks to be a formidable opponent for anyone who has to face him at the virtual felt.

Still leading the way in the UK is Conor “1_conor_b_1” Beresford followed by Ludovic “ludovi333” Geilich and the partypoker ambassador Patrick “pleno1” Leonard. Leonard is bound to make up some ground on Beresford and Geilich one his monster-sized $275,473 score is taking into account, his reward for a fifth place finish in the WCOOP $25,000 NLHE 8-Max High Roller.

David “davaman” Lopez climbed to sixth place from 16th in the UK following a string of impressive WCOOP and partypoker Powerfest results, while “luckyfish89” also climbed the rankings this week on the back of winning the $215 Battle Royale at PokerStars for $23,707.

Another big winner last week was Owain “sngwonder” Carey who took down a $50K Gtd High Roller Powerfest event at partypoker for $21,206, while a $50,000 score for Jonathan “Gil3000” Gill, awarded for a fourth place finish in a $1 million guaranteed Powerfest event propelled him to 15th place in the UK.

“Kashmir_uzi” is a player who has been around for a long time but this is the first time we recall him being in the UK top 20. Based in London, the online grinder has over $1.1 million in winnings, with $991,050 coming from his play at PokerStars.

Shoutout too to Stephen “woody1234321” Woodhead who returned to the limelight this week in 19th place.

Keith Cummins’ Huge Powerfest score

Keith “TheImprover” Cummins is the new face in the Irish top 20 thanks to a massive score during the partypoker Powerfest. Cummins finished fourth in the $1.5 million guaranteed Championship event to get his hands on $105,000, which is the second largest online cash of his career. This excellent result also saw Cummins climb to an all-time high of 888th in the world.

Climbing to second place this week is Tomas “luckymo32” Geleziunas. The Ireland-based Lithuanian looks to be making the switch from hold’em to pot-limit Omaha and has put in several top three finishes, showing he is as deadly with four cards as he is with only two.

Former Ireland number one Dan “NukeTheFish!” Wilson secured a $6,574 payday by finishing third in the PokerStars $109 Bounty Builder, while another former leader, Kevin “SuitedAcesBaby” Killeen won the $320 Thursday Thrill Late Edition at PokerStars for $11,728.

A special mention has to go to Daniel “danielt999” Tighe who returned to the Irish top 20 after dozens of deep runs at PokerStars over the course of the last month. Tighe occupies 11th place at present.
