UK & Ireland Sunday Briefing: Big Scores at PokerStars, 888poker and partypoker

  • There were some huge scores enjoyed by UK and Ireland's players this week, including one for $118K.

There were plenty of large scores enjoyed by poker players calling the United Kingdom and Ireland home this weekend at PokerStars, partypoker and 888poker.

The largest of these cashes weighed in at $118,315, which was the princely sum awarded to “diidums” who navigated their way to a runner-up finish in the PokerStars Sunday Million. Diidums was part of a three-way chop in online poker’s biggest weekly tournament.

Earlier on Sunday, Jayme “jayme1987” Bury and Damien “DamoWain” Wain reached the final table of the $109 Sunday Kickoff before busting in fourth and seventh-place for $7,126 and $3,753 while Toby “810ofclubs” Lewis finished seventh in the Big $109 for a $3,102 addition to his bankroll.

In the $700 Super-Sized Sunday, “hdjgkfgsdl” finished second for $27,237 and $5,979 in bounty payments, and in the $1,050 Sunday Grand NLHE it was the UK’s “Mad4it4life” who emerged victoriously and scooped the $44,402 first-place prize.

One of the best hourly rates for the weekend was that of “Liqqa” courtesy of a third-place finish in the hyper-turbo Sunday Supersonic, a finish worth $14,167 and Andy “wiisssppppaa” Taylor finished sixth in the $109 Sunday Wrap-Up for a $1,797 score.

It wasn’t only the high stakes tournaments at PokerStars where our players excelled because “slavedawg93” and “silvione88” finished seventh and second in the $22 Mini Sunday Million and walked away with $3,055 and $17,880 for their efforts.

Shoutouts also to “carlburne1” who banked $3,207 for his sixth place finish in the Double Deuce, to “squrm123” who finished eighth in the same tournament for $1,516, and to Conor “ccOOnnOOrr” O’Driscoll who collected $1,252 for his seventh-place finish in the Sunday Marathon.

Over at 888poker, Sebastian “iknowmybody” Saffari turned $1,050 into $30,090 by being the runner-up in the $120,000 Whale and at partypoker Toby “eightenclubs” Lewis finished third in the $100K Gtd Title Fight Warm Up for $11,475.

Also at partypoker, Patrick “Patrick_Leonard” Leonard finished ninth in the $150K Gtd High Roller for a $3,314 score and Dara “okearney” O’Kearney was involved in a five-way chop in the $250K Gtd Title Fight before crashing out in fourth place for $23,414.
