UK & Ireland Online Poker Rankings: Beresford Opens a Lead

Conor Beresford
  • Conor Beresford opens a lead in the UK online poker rankings while Toby Joyce reclaims top spot in Ireland.

Conor “1_conor_b_1” Beresford has opened a gap between himself and second-placed Patrick “pleno1” Leonard in the PocketFives.com United Kingdom online poker rankings.

Beresford continues to enjoy deep runs in tournaments and has reached several final tables during the past seven days. A fourth-place finish in the 888poker $20,000 Sunday Lightning 6-Max netted the youngster $2,346 but that sum was blown out of the water by the $32,873 Beresford was awarded for finishing second in the partypoker Super High Roller on Sunday.

Leonard is now approximately 208 points behind Beresford in the race to be number one in the UK although he may close that gap slightly once his runner-up finish in the $320 NLHE 6-Max at PokerStars, worth $4,759, is added to his points tally.

Up to sixth from eighth this week is Scott “Aggro Santos” Margereson courtesy of winning the HIGHROLLER tournament at Winamax for the equivalent of $6,503 while “luckyfish89” remained in tenth-place despite a runner-up finish in the Big $44 for $3,285 and an eighth-place finish in the Sunday Warm-Up for $4,636, both at PokerStars.

Dan “Deepincidurr” Daw improved his ranking by one place to 11th after winning the Hot $44 at PokerStars for $4,169 and former UK number one Rick “TheClaimer” Trigg should jump up the rankings next week thanks to winning the $109 Bounty Builder at PokerStars for $8,635 and $6,606 in bounty payments.

Irish Lead Changes Hands Again

Toby “Jobytoyce” Joyce is back on top in Ireland despite no results to speak of during the past week’s action. As points in the PocketFives.com ranking decay and more recent results become more relevant, Joyce now enjoys the slightest of leads over James “Jaymo” Noonan.

The rest of the Irish top 20 is in the exact same order as it was last week, although Dan “NukeTheFish!” Wilson improved his points tally with a third-place finish in the PokerStars Big $22 which netted him $3,217.
