UK & Ireland Online Poker Rankings: Beresford Back at Number One

Conor "1_conor_b_1" Beresford

Conor “1_conor_b_1” Beresford has jumped back to the number one spot in the PocketFives.com UK online poker rankings and opened up a gap of almost 200 points between second-placed Patrick “pleno1” Leonard and himself.

Beresford is approaching $4.5 million in online winnings and will likely hit that impressive total by the time the next rankings article is published here on UK & Ireland PokerNews. Beresford was the runner-up in the partypoker $150K Gtd Main Event on May 29, a result that netted him $19,326. This second place also added more than 260 points to his PocketFives profile, hence his return to the number one spot.

Up to third place this week is Ludovic “ludovi333” Geilich. The Scotsman took down the Big $215 at PokerStars on June 1 and walked away with $10,018.

Scott “AggroSantos” Margereson also won a Big $215, doing so on May 30 for $9,979. Margereson helped himself to a number of four-figure scores including one for $7,564, his reward for a second-place finish in the 888poker $40,000 Turbo Mega Deep, and one for $5,328 which he collected for winning the $320 NLHE 6-Max at PokerStars.

The player known as “luckyfish89” triumphed in another of the PokerStars $320 NLHE 6-Max tournaments and collected $5,484, while Jonathan “Proudflop” Proudfoot entered the top 20 for the first time after winning the Big $109 at PokerStars for $9,131 and finishing third in both the $109 Bounty Builder at PokerStars and the $50,000 Volcano at 888poker for scores of $4,974 and $7,125.

Big Wins Propel Toby Joyce to the Top of the Irish Standings

Toby “Jobytoyce” Joyce has leapfrogged James “Jaymo” Noonan in the Irish rankings and is now the man to catch in the Emerald Isle.

Joyce won the $215 Saturday Scuffle 6-Max Progressive Bounty tournament at PokerStars a couple of weeks ago for a $10,306 score and followed that result up by winning the TOP50 tournament at Winamax for an additional $8,614.

Noonan is only a handful of points behind Joyce courtesy of a trio of runner-up finishes with Dan “NukeTheFish!” Wilson keeping tabs on the leaders by banking $16,330 by finishing second in the $100,000 Mega Deep at 888poker, although this result is yet to be added to his profile.

Another player improving their position is the Irish grinder known as “Noogaii.” $5,036 was added to Noogaii’s PokerStars account after they finished second in one of the Hot $55.
