Sunday Briefing: Gavin Cochrane Wins the Sunday Grand PLO

Pot-limit Omaha cash game specialist Gavin “gavz101” Cochrane turned his attention to multi-table tournaments this weekend with devastating effect.

Cochrane was one of 87 players to buy into the $1,050 Sunday Grand PLO at PokerStars and was the last player standing. Cochrane banked a cool $20,790 after defeating the Swedish superstar Simon “C.Darwin2” Mattsson heads-up.

Earlier on Sunday, Euan “mrnappa” Baxter finished second in the $109 Sunday Starter after a three-way chop and netted $4,675, “reno8” banked $13,138 after busting from the $215 Sunday Million in eighth-place, and “antepia27” saw their $1,050 Sunday Grand NLHE run end in a ninth-place finish worth $4,238.

Also, “Liqqa” Collected $7,440 by finishing fourth in the $109 Sunday Cooldown, with Paul “Senterpied” Senter winning the $33+R Sunday Rebuy for $8,278 after a four-way chop involving fellow Brit Patrick “thebigdog09” Brooks who netted $8,155 for his third-place.

Mentions must also go to “flopkin51” who finished fifth in the $22 Double Deuce for $4,224, to “McBride1983” who finished second in the $82 PLO Sunday KOmania for $2,362 and to Owain “sngwonder” Carey who banked $2,883 for finishing fifth in the $55 Sunday Stack.

Over at 888poker, two British players navigated their way to the final table of the $100,000 Mega Deep. “Readypam0rir” bust in sixth-place for $4,250 with Andy “ChickenMelt” Young seeing their tournament end one place later for a $5,500 score.

There two more of our players at the final table of the $60,000 Sunday Challenge, too. “summuNNN” and “BadModafoka1” fell in eight and seventh place for $1,350 and $1,950 additions to their bankrolls, while “Hustlejg” helped themselves to the $4,700 third-place prize of the $40,000 Turbo Mega Deep.

Across to partypoker now where the UK-based Spaniard Oscar “OMGMenda” Serradell took down the $150K Gtd Main Event for $25,395 and where a pair of talented Brits finished as runners-up in The $50K PKO Weigh-In and the $100K Gtd Title Fight Warm-up.

Paul “senterpied99” Senter collected $3,643 for his second-place finish in the Weigh-In, with Rick “tHeClaImEr1” Trigg adding $16,134 to his lifetime winnings for his bridesmaid finish in the Title Fight Warm Up.
