Scott “AggroSantos” Margereson found himself in the winner’s circle at 888poker on Mar. 19 after he took down the $120,000 Whale tournament.
Margereson, who has more than $3.7 million in online poker tournament winnings, topped a field of 257 in the $600 buy-in event and walked away with $29,694 for his victory. Fellow Brit Oliver “threebunpass” Price finished in 13th place for $1,960 while Ireland’s Gary “garyt20” Thompson bust in 12th place for a $2,323 addition to his bankroll.
There were two English players at the final table of 888poker’s other $120,000 guaranteed tournament, the Mega Deep. Falling in fifth place for $7,192 was “0nurb1ke” and eliminated two places later for $10,275 was “gib0derGeh90”.
It was a similar story in the $40,000 Turbo Mega Deep where Chris “bluecheek” Moore fell in second place for $6,780 and “kavazis1986” saw their tournament end in a sixth place finish worth $2,034, while in the $80,000 Sunday Challenge, “rlambb” was eliminated in sixth place for $3,454 and “Wilmy_x” triumphed and claimed the $15,241 first place prize.
Over at PokerStars, “SonOfBadger” was the runner-up in the $215 Sunday Supersonic for a $24,324 score, while Paul “pvas2” Vas Nunes finished fourth in the $109 Sunday Kickoff for $7,057.
A shoutout has to go to “AAgoodfold” who banked $13,561 by finishing fifth in the $215 Sunday Warm-Up, and also to both Patrick “pads1161” Leonard and “calculer_” who were the fifth and sixth place finishers in the $1,050 Sunday Grand PLO event, results that secured $10,319 and $7,702.
Lastly, Sam “Sammy_squid” Grafton reached the final table of the $30K Gtd Rebuy at partypoker and won $1,140 and the aforementioned Oliver “ThreeBunPass” Price also finished eighth in a major, this time in the $100K Gtd Super High Roller for $5,991.
