  • The Irish online poker rankings has a brand new number one.

  • Patrick Leonard opens up a large gap between himself and Conor Beresford in the UK online poker rankings.

Patrick “pleno1” Leonard has opened a near 800 point gap at the top of the UK online poker rankings thanks to breaking through the $3 million in online winnings barrier.

Leonard took down the $50,000 Gtd 6-Max Progressive Weigh-In at partypoker earlier this week and banked a cool $11,069 for his victory and now has put some distance between himself and second placed Conor “1_conor_b_1” Beresford.

Ludovic “ludovi333” Geilich is still in third place but has drawn closer to Beresford after finishing seventh in the $1,050 Sunday Grand PLO for $7,892 and being the runner-up in the $215 Sunday Tuesday Early Edition for $6,431, both at PokerStars.

Returning to the top 10 this week are Owain “sngwonder” Carey and Scott “Aggro Santos” Margereson. Carey climbed to eighth on the back of wins in the partypoker $20K Gtd High Roller for $9,273 and in the $5,000 Gtd PLO 6-Max for $2,080. Margereson is now in ninth after winning the Hot $109 at PokerStars for $7,778.

Two new names can be found in the top 20 this week. “deivid29” from Cardiff comes in at 14th. With $1,120,317 in online winnings from play at PokerStars and 888poker, he certainly knows his way around the virtual felt.

The other new name is “que_te_crio” who has more than $900,000 in online poker tournament winnings and is thought to be one of the many UK-based Spanish grinders.

James Noonan is the New Irish Number One

James “Jaymo” Noonan has knocked Dan “NukeTheFish!” Wilson from top spot in Ireland but how long this remains the case is anyone’s guess because only 73.09 points separate the pair.

Noonan has been consistently in the money of late and his climb to the top of the charts was aided by a trio of top three finishes in Winamax tournaments last week. Wilson, the reigning Irish open champion, helped keep tabs on Noonan with a fourth place finish in the partypoker $50K Gtd 6-Max Turbo High Roller worth $5,475.

Sean “monkeybudgie” Prendiville climbed into the top 10 this week following his third place finish in the Hot $162 at PokerStars, a finish worth $6,471.

A shoutout has to go to Cathel “shinerrr” Shine who jumped four places to 11th this week after he took down the $100,000 Baby Whale at 888poker for an $18,792 score, the biggest result of any Irish player this past week.
